"Russell was adopted from MAPR in July 2025 after having lived in three different homes in 90 days. Russell loves going on pack walks with his Maryland dog friends, boating, treats, and huge stuffed animals. He welcomes everyone who comes to our home, with one of his favorite toys so they’ll play tug of war. He also can be a quiet dog and is very gentle with children."—Forever Family

2027 Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue Calendar Contest!

🐾 This is our annual fundraiser, which helps rescue and rehabilitate abandoned or surrendered pugs and pug mixes across the Mid-Atlantic region. We have partnered with the good folks at GoGoPhotoContest to do a pay-per-VOTE contest. This means that photo entries are FREE!

🐾 There will instead be a $1 per vote fee. As always, please remember that this is first for fun and second for the benefit of MAPR, so give a wiggle of your happy tails and get started entering your photos! Here are the pugs entered so far!

🐾 "Hi everyone! It’s Shelby! 🐾 I just wanted to let you know that I’m settling in so well and really loving my new life! I’ve got “sit” down pat, and I’m almost completely housebroken—my humans are very proud of me! I’m also working hard on learning how to play fetch (I’m still deciding if bringing the toy back is really necessary 😂). But most of all, I absolutely LOVE having a kid of my very own to run around and play with. She is my favorite playmate, and I’m so happy to have found my family! ❤️"
