Summer Switch Up 2026 was filled with learning, laughter, new friendships, exciting experiences, and memories our youth will carry with them. 💙☀️

None of this would have been possible without the incredible businesses, organizations, churches, and individuals who donated their time, resources, food, activities, and support. Thank you for believing in our youth and helping us create a summer to remember! We are so grateful for every person who helped make Summer Switch Up possible. 🫶🏽

The Children's Council extends its heartfelt gratitude to the The Lancaster District of the AME Zion Church and the P*e Dee Conference A.M.E. Zion Church for their generous financial contribution to our Summer Switch Up program.

Your support is a wonderful example of neighbors helping neighbors. Because of your generosity, we are able to invest in our youth and provide meaningful opportunities that will make a lasting impact on their lives.

Thank you for partnering with us to strengthen our community. Together, we are making a difference—one child, one family, and one act of kindness at a time.

Thank you, Sheltered of Lancaster, SC, for speaking to our youth in SPARK about the impact their care kits project will have on people!💚

Over the last month, they have worked nonstop to collect bags, hygiene items, blankets, lightly used children's items, books, and canned food through donations and funding from Young People in Charge. You can never be too young to have a positive impact on your community!🌱💡

A community message from SPARK: Don't litter! As they go around cleaning their campus, consider some ways you can help care for the environment around you.

The Children's Council is deeply saddened to hear of Officer Hirtle's passing. We, like so many others, are beyond grateful for the constant support and care he poured into our community. From being a warm smile with the best hugs at community events year-round to happily taking youth on ridealongs, he made a tremendously positive impact that has been felt by many in our community throughout the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow officers during this difficult time.💚
