Its mission team season at ODK!! Portland Church sent a team and it’s been awesome! Our home team has been doing student outreach, the GracePoint team helped us go to a new area where 200 kids, plus some community members showed up for the traditional pbj’s juice and cookies were served and Jesus was shared. They had to turn 100 sandwiches into 200 pdq!! If you give to Open Door - Kenya , your praying and paying for ALL of this, including maintenance on the well, and keeping our truck (lovingly called “nyati”(buffalo)) on the rough roads of ministry, housing, and the everyday workings of ODK. Michelle has been in the states to help with some family matters and was able to be a part of FBC Lamesa s VBS! And just as the Lord planned, the mission part was about….. you guessed it….KENYA🇰🇪
ISN’T THAT JUST LIKE THE LORD?!? People are hearing the gospel because you pray and give! Better think/pray about getting to Kenya ASAP! The Lord is good and He s working!!!

A few months ago I asked for prayer for this young lady, Margaret. She is one of our former Waridi girls and was such a success story. She had cancer. She is with Jesus now. She leaves behind her family and a small son. Thank you for praying for her and for your continued prayers and support.

Sometimes ministry is hard, beautiful, amazing and heartbreaking. Actually, not just sometimes, most of the time. We have celebrated new life physically and spiritually, had an amazing time serving and teaching widows and younger girls, and grieved because one of our former Waridi (school aged girls who are pregnant) is suffering the effects of cancer. “Lord, we don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” We thank you all for your prayers and gifts as we serve, celebrate, trust and grieve.
