Something New Is Growing in CEF Florida and CEF Tampa!

We are praising the Lord for what He is doing in Hillsborough County!

After many years without a Good News Club® in this area, we are excited to share that Pastor Joel Walters and the team from The Bible Fellowship Church in Wimauma are preparing to launch a brand-new Good News Club at Creekside Charter Academy this month!

We are so thankful for Pastor Joel, the church, and this team for stepping forward to help reach boys and girls with the Gospel.

This has been a long time coming, and we are thankful for every prayer, conversation, church connection, and open door that has brought us to this point. We pray that this club will be just the first fruits of what God desires to do throughout the Tampa Bay area as we work toward the continued growth and development of Hillsborough County.

🙏 Would you pray with us?

Please pray for Pastor Joel and the entire team as they prepare to begin. They will be connecting with families through the school’s upcoming open house, so pray specifically that God would open the hearts of parents and that many boys and girls would register for Good News Club.

Most importantly, pray for the children who will soon hear the Gospel—that many would come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and grow in their relationship with Him.

🌱 Would you consider sowing a financial seed into this new work?

As we develop the ministry of CEF in Tampa Bay, your gifts can help us establish new Good News Clubs, equip and train volunteers, provide ministry materials, and continue opening doors to reach more children.

You can give through CEF of Florida here:

When giving, select the appropriate CEF Tampa designation from the drop-down menu to help support the growth and development of this ministry.

And if you live in the Hillsborough County and have a heart for reaching children with the Gospel, we are also beginning to identify individuals who may be interested in serving on a future CEF Tampa Local Committee—helping us pray, plan, organize, develop partnerships, and provide leadership for the ministry throughout this area. Please reach out to CEF of Florida if you would like more information.

Praise the Lord for this team, this school, and this open door! May this be only the beginning of many Good News Clubs reaching boys and girls throughout Hillsborough County and the Tampa Bay area.

Remembering Mr. O—and Continuing the Mission

This month, we celebrate what would have been the 149th birthday of Jesse Irvin Overholtzer, the founder of Child Evangelism Fellowship. Known affectionately as the indomitable “Mr. O,” he carried a deep burden for children around the world who had never heard the Gospel.

Decades ago, Mr. O would sit with a globe, place his finger on a country, and pray for the children living there. He asked God to raise up an army of evangelists who would encircle the globe, telling boys and girls about Jesus.

Today, we can see God answering that prayer.

Through CEF ministries, more than 34 million children worldwide were impacted with the Good News in 2025. Yet the mission continues as we trust God for the vision of reaching 100 million children annually by 2032.

Here in Florida, missionaries, churches, and thousands of trained volunteers are working together to reach children through Good News Club®, 5-Day Club®, and other Gospel ministries.

Would you prayerfully consider giving in honor of Mr. O’s birthday? Your gift will help CEF of Florida train and equip more believers, partner with more churches, and give more boys and girls the opportunity to hear the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

Give today:

Let’s continue the mission—reaching every child, in every community, with the Gospel.

Pastors, student pastors, and CEF ministry partners: We're saving you a spot.

Every summer, teens across Florida gather for one intense week to train as summer missionaries to the children in your communities beyond your church walls. This time, we want to invite you to come check us out.

On June 9th, come preview Chrsitian Youth In Action® (CYIA™) training in Trinity, Florida. Enjoy a free lunch with some of our education team, observe one of our training classes, and hear from our state leadership on the impact of CYIA ministry and why your church needs to get on board with us.

Share this with someone you know who needs to partner with us to help prepare the next generation of Christian leaders and to reach lost children with the Gospel.
