Our recent ROAR FLORIDA Family Meeting provided an opportunity for families, members, and staff to come together, share updates, and discuss both the successes and challenges facing our community, including the increasing insurance costs associated with operating a unique residential housing community like ours. While financial pressures are significant for many nonprofit organizations, our commitment to providing a vibrant, inclusive community where adults can build friendships, pursue interests, and live meaningful lives remains unchanged.
Moments like these remind us that strong communities are built through partnership, generosity, and people who believe in the value of inclusion.
Following the meeting, the Knights of Columbus Saint Joseph Council #2505 hosted a wonderful barbecue for our members, families, and staff. The event brought everyone together for an afternoon of great food, fellowship, and laughter. Two years ago, they hosted a similar gathering, and we were thrilled to bring this tradition back.
The Knights also presented ROAR FLORIDA with their annual $2,500 donation. In fact, they graciously offered us the option of receiving an additional $500 or using those funds to provide the barbecue for our community. We chose the barbecue because experiences matter. Bringing people together around a meal, creating memories, and strengthening relationships is at the heart of what ROAR FLORIDA is all about.
At a time when costs continue to rise and challenges continue to grow, the support of community partners like the Knights of Columbus means more than ever. Their generosity helps sustain not only our programs but also the sense of belonging and community that makes ROAR FLORIDA such a special place.
