VISTE - Volunteers in Service to the Elderly VISTE’s mission is to enable elderly persons to remain safely and independently in their own homes.

The needs are great, but together we are greater than the need. VISTE is proud to be an agency partner with the United Way of Central Florida, as well as supported by the GiveWell Community Foundation. A simple phone call can make a world of difference. 💚

Through our Phone Pals Program, volunteers are matched with a local senior and schedule regular friendly phone calls, providing companionship, conversation, and a caring connection. For many older adults, these calls brighten their day and help reduce feelings of isolation.

Whether you're talking about hobbies or simply checking in, your time and kindness can have a lasting impact.

Give a senior a friendly voice to look forward to. Complete our volunteer application to join our Phone Pals team: https://www.cognitoforms.com/VISTE1/VISTEVolunteerApplication

VISTE is pulling up a seat at The Longest Table! Join us on Saturday, November 14th, starting at 11 AM at Munn Park as we come together with the community around one long table. This event will be happening alongside the Lakeland Downtown Farmers Curb Market, so be sure to stop by the VISTE tent and help us fill Personal Care Boxes for local seniors.

We're collecting donations of:
- Cotton Balls
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Kitchen Sponges
- Band-Aids
- Disinfecting Wipes

These small items make a big difference. Every donation goes directly to a senior right here in our community. 💚

Thanksgiving is next month, and preparations are underway for VISTE’s 30th Annual Thanksgiving Meal Delivery!

On Wednesday, November 25, volunteers across our community will deliver 2,000 meals to our elderly neighbors. It's one of the most meaningful days of the year, and we'd love for you to be a part of it.

Ready to deliver meals? Pre-register by completing the Thanksgiving Volunteer Application on our website.

However you show up, you're making a difference for a neighbor who needs it.

Together, we’re helping seniors remain safe, independent, and connected in their own homes. United is the Way!

Thank you, United Way of Central Florida, for supporting VISTE and the seniors we serve! 💚

Behind every grocery bag that reaches a local senior is a volunteer who made it happen, and September was full of them! 💚

A huge thank you to the incredible teams from Project Connect, Amazon.com, Polk State College, First United Methodist Church of Lakeland (Florida), Summit, Southeastern University , Publix, CarMax, and South State Bank, plus all the individual volunteers who rolled up their sleeves in our warehouse.

Packing groceries, sorting supplies, and getting deliveries ready all took dedicated hands, and every one of you helped local seniors stay safe and independent in their own homes. Your generosity, dedication, and dependability are what keep VISTE's mission going strong. Thank you for giving your time so selflessly!

Drop a 💚 to thank these amazing volunteers, or bring your own team, church, or club to join them: viste.org/volunteer-at-viste.
