Would you know where your pets would go during an evacuation?

Many emergency shelters do not allow pets, so it’s important to have a plan before a disaster happens.

During National Pet Preparedness Month TLC PetSnip recommends these tips to be prepared:
🏨 Research pet-friendly hotels ahead of time
👨‍👩‍👧 Ask family or friends if they can help in an emergency
🐾 Keep carriers labeled and easily accessible
📋 Store vaccination records in a waterproof bag

Never leave pets behind during an evacuation. If it isn’t safe for you, it isn’t safe for them.

Today, Luna came for Angel Day thanks to Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Inc, and we are so grateful she did.

What was supposed to be a routine spay turned into a life-saving emergency surgery. Luna was suffering from pyometra, a severe and potentially fatal infection of the uterus.

Without surgery, pyometra can quickly become deadly.

Because of the Stand Up For Pits Foundation and their commitment to providing free spay and neuter services, Luna got the care she needed just in time. Today, her life was saved.

This is why spay and neuter matters.

It’s not just about preventing unwanted litters. It’s about preventing suffering, preventing emergencies, and sometimes saving a dog’s life.

Luna is recovering tonight because someone made the decision to get her spayed before it was too late.

It’s an Angel Day for 2026!! 🎉🐾

We are so grateful to the Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Inc for helping us alter 20 community dogs today! This is an amazing foundation that helps to keep the most vulnerable population of dogs out of the shelters!

During National Pet Preparedness Month, TLC PetSnip wants to remind everyone to:
✔️ Make sure your pet is microchipped
✔️ Update your contact information
✔️ Keep collars and ID tags current

A microchip only works if the information attached to it is accurate!

Thousands of pets are displaced during natural disasters every year. A simple update could make all the difference.

Happy World Bicycle Day!

If your pets could ride bikes… what kind would they choose?

Dogs:
“FAST. MUST GO FAST. Also… squirrel chase mode activate button.”

Cats:
“I will sit in the basket and judge everyone we pass.”

Some pets would wear helmets.
Some would demand snacks every 3 minutes.
And at least one cat would absolutely refuse to pedal unless carried like royalty.

Your pet emergency kit should include:

📸 Recent photos of your pets
🧻 Litter, waste bags, and cleaning supplies
💙 Comfort items like toys or blankets

TLC Voucher Program Update - Link corrected

TLC has raise $15,879 towards our $50,000 goal!

Our goal is to raise funds that will allow us to provide vouchers to Polk County residents who may need financial assistance getting their pets spayed or neutered. Every shirt purchased helps move us one step closer to preventing unwanted litters, reducing shelter overcrowding, and improving the health of pets in our community.

As Memorial Day approaches, we’re taking time to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice allows us to enjoy the freedoms we have today, and our team at TLC PetSnip holds that gratitude close to heart.

Please note that our clinic will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. We’ll resume normal hours on Tuesday, May 26 and will respond to messages as soon as we return.

We wish our Lakeland community a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day.
