A mentoring and youth development program for motivated students on their Path to College. Core Values:

udents from financially insecure households are less likely to pursue the heights of their academic potential, and are often unguided along the sometimes complicated path to college. We are committed to providing this much needed guidance and extracurricular investment and are committed to preparing the next generation of scholars, leaders, and entrepreneurs. Goals

Introduce students to opportunities for personal and educational growth. Raise student test scores, increase scholarships, and college acceptance rates. Create cycles of civic service in the form of tutoring to help the next generation of students better their academic potential.

Engineering becomes even more powerful when it responds to the needs of a community. 🚉💻

Gerald, a Class of 2027 PTC Fellow, explored that connection through the My Streetscape Summer Research Institute.

Gerald especially enjoyed learning new coding tools and seeing how engineering, research, and urban technology can help address real community concerns. His experience gathering public input and presenting his research showed him that creating better technology also requires listening to the people who will be affected by it.

Please join us in congratulating our CEO and Founder, Christine Sylvain, on being named as one of Gulf Stream Council, Scouting America's Trailblazing Women honorees. The third annual Restoring the Village Event will be held on September 17th and will celebrate women in the community who "lead with purpose, inspire change, and strengthen our communities."

Confidence can grow one patient lesson at a time. 💻

This summer, Fednise & Sophia supported digital-literacy workshops for older adults at the Mid-County Senior Center.

The most rewarding part for them was watching participants understand the lessons and gain technology skills they could continue using independently. Their progress showed them that patient, practical instruction can make a lasting difference in someone’s everyday life.

Through the experience, Fednise & Sophia strengthened their ability to help others learn while seeing the impact of meeting people where they are.

This week, we welcomed back our juniors and seniors for their first fellowship of the school year. Our amazing students were able to reconnect with their peers and with the Path to College team as they reflected on a summer full of enriching jobs, internships, and volunteer work, and got excited for a new year of deeper learning, growth, and college preparation. 🎓📚

One student shared: “PTC doesn’t just hold me at arm’s length, but rather, grabs my hand and holds me up until I can stand for myself. In my last year, I have become a confident leader, thanks to [Path to College].”

We are deeply proud of these incredible students, and are so excited to continue helping them gain the skills, connection, and confidence needed to achieve their goals and reach their bright futures.

Leadership is not only about standing in front. It is also about growing alongside the people you lead. 🥁

As Drum Major for Boynton Beach High School’s Tiger Sound Band, Dianna has experienced what collaborative leadership can look like.

One of her proudest moments was earning a superior rating in student conducting at concert MPA (Music Performance Assessment). She was also encouraged when all three Drum Major candidates received the role after learning to support one another as fellow leaders instead of treating each other as competitors.

Through this experience, Dianna has learned to pursue shared success for the entire band.

Some of the most meaningful work happens behind the scenes. 🌟

Meet Adalia S., a Class of 2027 PTC Fellow spending her summer as an Office Assistant with the City of Riviera Beach Parks & Recreation Department.

What stood out to Adalia was discovering how much preparation and coordination go into creating successful community programs. Although the work can be demanding, she finds it rewarding because her contributions help families and children have positive experiences.

Along the way, Adalia has strengthened her organization, communication, teamwork, patience, and confidence.

Another school year closer to this moment. 🎓

As students across our community head back to school, we remember that the cap toss may happen at the end, but so much of what makes that moment possible happens quietly throughout the school year.

For our Fellows, that journey does not happen alone.

Throughout the school year, Path to College mentors are there to keep showing up, asking questions, offering perspective, celebrating progress, and reminding students of what they are capable of when the road gets difficult.

Sometimes mentorship looks like talking through a college decision. Sometimes it's a conversation about goals, helping a student prepare for what is next, or simply being the consistent person who says, “Keep going.”

Our students already bring ambition, ideas, resilience, and potential. Mentors help make sure they have another person in their corner as they put those strengths into action.

To our Fellows, welcome back. Let’s get after it. ⭐️

Sometimes, the first step toward college isn't completing an application.
It's walking across a campus and realizing, "I can see myself here."

Our Path to College Fellows recently visited Florida Atlantic University for a day of exploration, learning, and inspiration. Students toured campus with current FAU students, learned about academic support resources, visited the Kelly/Strul office, and experienced what everyday college life is like.

The visit also included time at the Gruber AI Sandbox, where Fellows explored exciting artificial intelligence projects and used Claude Code to build a virtual closet app and a music recommendation app that suggests songs based on someone's facial expression and outfit. It was an engaging way for students to see how technology, creativity, and innovation come together to solve real-world problems.

Experiences like these help students picture themselves in spaces where they can learn, grow, and succeed.

A heartfelt thank you to Lucy Rodriguez, Angel Santiago, Isa Tovar, and Jocelyn Correa Sánchez, members of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc., for leading our students on such a welcoming and engaging campus tour. We also extend our gratitude to Florida Atlantic University and everyone who made this experience possible.

We're growing our Path to College community! 💙

With a new cohort of 10th and 11th-grade Fellows joining us this fall, we're looking for caring mentors who want to encourage and empower the next generation of leaders.

Sometimes, all it takes is one consistent adult who shows up, listens, encourages, and believes in a student. That relationship can help a Fellow build confidence, stay motivated, and see what's possible for their future.
