Educate to Prevent Poisoning

Every day, 374 children in the United States ages 0 to 19 are treated in an emergency department, and two children die because of being poisoned, according to the Centers for Disease Control Household.

The ARISE Poison Prevention Activity Book teaches children what items are poisonous and unsafe in a fun way. It helps parents keep their homes safe.

Please let us know what you think of this ARISE Positivity Card #40 ARISE Air Out the Negatives.

Every positivity card is a mini life lesson. Each card opens a new learning experience where youth have an opportunity to express themselves.

Group learning springs to life using ARISE Positivity cards. Develop a series of questions related to the topic:
• Begin with closed questions that require a “Yes” or “No” answer. These are non-threatening and allow participants to respond without too much personal risk.
• Next ask “Who?” “What?” “When?” “Where?” “Why?” “How?”
• Discuss and explore concepts with open-ended questions such as “Do you think…?
Or, “What do you assume from this card…?” etc.
• Make the lesson personal for participants. Ask, “What does this card mean to you?”
• Reveal consequences by asking “What would happen if...?”

Use this ARISE Positivity Card with your next group and let us know how the youth respond. We love to hear from you!
