We love being able to help our community and non-profit organizations.
I don’t think I will ever stop being amazed at the way God continues to show up for Grace and Grit Ranch. ❤️
We are still in the very early stages of building this nonprofit, and already, the love and support we have received from our community has been nothing short of incredible.
If there is one thing God has done since putting this mission on my heart, it’s stretch me. He has pushed me outside of my comfort zone in ways I never imagined, and some of those growing pains are nerve racking!!!
One of the biggest ones for me? Fundraising.
I can be the hands, the feet, and the heart behind this mission all day long. I can put in the hours, do the hard work, get dirty, love on the horses, and pour every ounce of myself into what we are building without thinking twice.
But asking people for financial support? That one is hard for me.
If I’m being completely transparent, I would much rather just dig into my own pockets and figure out how to make it happen. But God keeps reminding me that this mission was never meant to be carried on my shoulders alone.
A nonprofit isn’t sustained by one person’s willingness to give everything they have. It’s sustained by a community of people who believe in something bigger than themselves, who come together with a shared heart and a shared purpose.
And yesterday, I got another beautiful reminder of that.
I had the opportunity to speak in front of our local Daybreakers Lions Club LHC and share the heart behind Grace and Grit Ranch. I got to talk about our mission to make equine-assisted learning accessible to individuals who otherwise might never have the financial means to experience it.
Stepping up and asking others to come alongside us isn’t always comfortable for me, but I did it anyway.
And wouldn’t you know it? Just a short while later, one of their members walked into my salon with a check for our scholarship program. ❤️
I don’t even know if I can put into words what moments like that mean to me.
To the Lions Club, THANK YOU. Thank you for listening, for believing in what we are building, and for choosing to invest in the lives of people you may never even meet. Your generosity goes so much further than a dollar amount. It creates opportunity. It opens doors. It gives someone a chance to experience connection, growth, confidence, and healing alongside our incredible equine partners.
And to God, thank You for continuing to remind me that obedience sometimes looks like doing the things that scare us, trusting You with the outcome, and allowing other people to be part of the blessing.
We have a long road ahead of us, and there is still so much work to be done. But every time someone in this community steps forward and says, “We believe in what you’re doing,” it gives us one more reason to keep pushing.
Grace and Grit Ranch may have started as a dream placed on my heart, but it’s going to take a community to bring that dream to life.
And what a beautiful community we are finding. ❤️🐴
