May is Foster Care Awareness Month 💙

Right now, over 390,000 children are in foster care across the U.S., each one with a story, a need, and a future that matters. 77% ages 14-21 leave care without receiving federally funding services to prepare for adulthood.

For many, this isn’t just a statistic—it’s personal.

Foster care can feel uncertain, overwhelming, and isolating. But it can also be life-changing when there’s stability, support, and community. That’s why our mission is so important.

At Impact 928, we are working toward creating a safe, supportive space for youth—one that brings connection, consistency, and opportunity. A place where kids don’t just get by… they grow, heal, and belong.

This month, we’re not just raising awareness,

their schools, their friends, their support systems and sent away to other cities... just to have a place to live.

Not because they did anything wrong.
But because there’s nowhere for them here.

That’s why we’re hosting this.
A morning of pickleball, connection, coffee, and community with one purpose: to help build a home for foster teen girls right here in our county.

This isn’t just a tournament.

It’s a step toward keeping these girls close to the life they know and giving them stability, safety, and support.
Whether you come to play, sponsor, or simply show up... you are part of something bigger.

The National Foster Care Institute has identified that one in five youth exiting foster care at 18 will experience homelessness, with 50% of the nation’s homeless population being former foster youth in foster care.

1 in 5.

This is bigger than us. This is about them.

Too many children leave foster care and step straight into survival mode—into uncertainty, instability, and homelessness.

We’re choosing to show up. To create safety. To create home.

Because every child deserves more than just getting by—they deserve to belong. 🤍

We love the mission of 928! Right now, they’re working toward designing and building a 4,000 sq. ft., single-family-style foster home for young girls — something desperately needed, as there are currently no group homes for foster youth in Mohave County.

Impact 928 had an amazing time at the 19th Annual Kingman Walk Away from Drugs & Keep Kingman Safe Expo last night! We want to extend a thank you to the Kingman Area M**h Coalition for allowing us to set up a table! 💛

We were able to share our mission for helping foster families and information about our group home with so many amazing community members, and it was an incredible opportunity to connect and spread awareness about the work we do!

Looking forward to next year already! ✨
