Fraternal Order of Police Associates - Lake Havasu City The FOPA, Lodge 47a is the civilian affiliate of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 47 (FOP).

The FOPA, Lodge 47a is a civilian affiliate of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 47 (FOP). Our members are civilian employees that consist of Administrative Assistants, Animal Control Officers, Detention Officers, Dispatchers, & Records Clerks. The FOPA Lodge 47a is a charitable corporation as defined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The FOPA is part of a national organization

known as the Grand Lodge Fraternal Order of Police Associates with local Lodges throughout the nation. The corporation is a non-partisan organization without regard to race, creed, color or religious belief. The FOPA's interests revolve around law enforcement and the men and women that have dedicated their lives to the protection of ours. The FOPA actively supports legislation, charitable causes, and all law enforcement efforts on a local, state and national level.

It is with a heavy heart and incredible sadness that I let you know of the passing of Phoenix Police Officer Zane Coolidge #10914.

Officer Coolidge was a husband, father, son, brother, friend, and a dedicated and beloved member of the Phoenix Police Department.

Since Tuesday night’s shooting, Officer Coolidge put up a valiant fight, despite the odds being against him.

He has been surrounded by loved ones and blanketed in the prayers of this community. The injuries he sustained after the cowardly acts of another were just too much for him to overcome. Officer Coolidge’s legacy will forever be a part of this Department.

Officer Coolidge’s family is dealing with unimaginable grief. We will do everything we can to help them through their darkest hours, and we pledge that they will always be a part of the Phoenix Police Family. I ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

This is also a very trying time for our Department. We have felt the outpouring of support from our community over the past few days and we know that will remain unwavering.

We will hold our heads up high and do our fallen colleague proud, by continuing to serve our community with the courage and integrity that is Phoenix Police Department.

On Saturday, 12/2, we completed our 2023 Shop with a Cop program. This year, 23 children were chosen by our local elementary schools to participate. The children were paired up with an Officer from LHCPD and a Volunteer to shop for Christmas presents for their immediate family and themselves.

The children were greeted by their Officers, where they had donuts provided by Donut Post and got hands-on tours of Police vehicles. K9 Rocky was also there to join in on the fun. The group then went to Walmart to start shopping. Santa and his Elves greeted the children as they shopped.

Once the shopping was done, it was time to wrap those gifts, followed by having some lunch provided by Walmart. The children took pictures and were given a special gift by Santa himself.

We want to thank all the businesses and private citizens who donated to this great cause. Without you, this program would not continue to exist. We want to add a special thanks to the Shops at Lake Havasu for providing the space that was used and Starbucks inside of Bashas for donating the coffee that got us going.

Our annual Shop with a Cop program is just 1 month away. We are still looking for donations for this GREAT cause.

Shop with a Cop is held every December; the event pairs approximately 20+ underprivileged and at-risk children ages 6-10 with a law enforcement officer for a shopping spree leading up to Christmas. The hope is that this experience of shopping for toys alongside Lake Havasu City's finest will instill in each child a positive experience with law enforcement, which will carry into their adolescence and adulthood.

The program is 100% funded by donations from our citizens and local businesses and not taxpayer dollars. Without our donors, this program would cease to exist. The FOPA is a 501c3 charity, and donations are tax-deductible. Huge THANK YOU to the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 2269 and LHC Chapter 1608 Women of the Moose for their generous donation to our Shop with a Cop program.

They also donated a box of "Tommy Moose" stuffed animals for patrol officers to had out to kids who go they help during calls for service. We thank you for your support.
