๐Ÿ’œ Join Us for 2026 Overdose Awareness Day ๐Ÿ’œ

Innovations HTC is proud to stand alongside Franklin Street Harm Reduction, Thurston County, and our fellow community partners for a day of remembrance, connection, community care, and hope.

Overdose impacts individuals, families, and entire communities. On September 2, we will come together to honor the lives we have lost, support those who carry their memory, and recognize that every life is worthy of dignity, compassion, and care.

๐Ÿ“… September 2, 2026
โฐ 11:00 AM โ€“ 4:00 PM

Join us for community connection, art projects, resources, camaraderie, and a celebration of the lives of those lost to overdose.

At Innovations HTC, we know that substance use, homelessness, trauma, exploitation, and human trafficking can intersect in complex ways. Stigma should never be a barrier to safety, support, or healing.

Come stand with us as we remember those we have lost, support those who are still here, and strengthen a community where everyone knows their life has value. ๐Ÿ’œ

Innovations is honored to be a part of and recognized as a community partner from the Thurston County Board of Commissioners for the Health and Wellness proclamation. Our Executive Director attended the meeting alongside the Thurston County Resource HUB, Intercity Transit, Evergreen Direct Credit Union and the Thurston County Food Bank.

The Thurston County Board of Commissioners read a joint proclamation for the two national observances ahead of its Tuesday, Aug. 18 meeting.

National Wellness Month raises โ€œawareness about the importance of the wellbeing of Thurston County residentsโ€ and celebrates the organizations contributing to a healthy community, Commissioner Wayne Fournier read from the proclamation on Tuesday.

National Recovery Month, the proclamation reads, serves as an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of those recovering from mental health and substance use conditions, and shares appreciation for organizations supporting Thurston County residents in that recovery work.

Among the organizations recognized for their work to promote wellness and recovery in Thurston County was Intercity Transit, which provided roughly 4.3 million rides within Thurston County in 2025.

โ€œWe've known for quite some time that public transit plays an important role in the health and well-being of our community by providing transportation to jobs, schools, and community activities, reducing congestion on local roads by allowing more modes travel, helping seniors and people with disabilities remain independent, providing both commuter and lifeline services to community members,โ€ said Intercity Transit General Manager Emly Bergkamp.

๐Ÿ’œ Remember. Support. Hope. ๐Ÿ’œ

Innovations HTC is honored to support the 10th Annual Mason County Overdose Awareness events as our community comes together to remember the lives lost to overdose, support those impacted by addiction, and bring hope to individuals and families throughout Mason County.

Overdose touches families, friends, survivors, and entire communities. These events provide a space to remember loved ones, connect with local resources, reduce stigma, and remind those who are struggling that they are seen and their lives matter.

Innovations trainer went out to Shelton Rotary and spoke on human trafficking and provided an overview of what to look for in the community, how to respond, and what the community can do. It was a powerful message given and we are looking forward to continued training in Mason County.

If you would like to schedule a training for your group, business, or agency; please reach out to us to schedule.
