Introducing the 81st Jewel Ball: Okavango! Guests will be transported to a shimmering oasis bursting with life and beauty. The Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Botswana, is a massive wetland oasis. Each year, seasonal rains transform the Kalahari Desert into a lush network of channels and lagoons. This vibrant habitat supports large populations of elephant, zebra, antelope, and other herbivores, which in turn attract iconic predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, making the Okavango one of Africa’s most spectacular ecological treasures.

Led by Jewel Ball Chair Lisa Bresnahan and Co-Chairs Stephanie Stone and Lesley Kroupa, and hosted once again by our longtime partner La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.

Save the date: August 7, 2027 🐆

For 80 years, the Jewel Ball has made a difference across San Diego.

This last year, the 80th ball, “Festa di Venezia,” raised a record $1,403,213 to give back to nonprofits that serve our community, the most raised in a single year in the organization’s history.

Our deepest thanks to Ball Chair Jenny McGowan and President Colleen Lighter for leading us to this historic total, and to everyone who gave so generously.

Keep an eye out! There’s more to come from our annual New Member Luncheon!
