We Feed Kids! Working in CenTex & Guatemala. Nutrition, clean water & community development programs. We envision a local community where NO child is hungry.

We envision a Guatemala where NO child suffers from malnutrition. We believe that God has a plan for every single child. We partner with vulnerable and underserved communities in Central Texas and Guatemala to make sure children have their the fundamental needs met so that they can be everything they were created to be! What does that look like?
1. It looks like food and nutrition programs so that children can develop to their full potential, and perform at their best because they aren't hungry all the time.
2. It looks like clean water programs so that families can drink water that isn't contaminated with f***l matter (p**p), bacteria, parasites, and other pathogens that make them sick all the time.
3.. It looks like community projects like road improvements, building onto village schools, and health initiatives like anti-parsite treatment for kids.
4. It looks like education programs so that our partner communities can become more resilient, self-sufficient and begin to create opportunitiies for success. Ancora is 100% funded by people who share our passion for helping children and families be everything they were created to be.

$5 will provide nutrition for a child in Guatemala for a month.

On today’s Outpost Update - Guatemala Edition - we are following the water project in our partner community of El Papayo. You can see the pipeline that is running along the side of the road. The trenching for this pipeline was dug by the people who live in El Papayo, and then with a plumber we hired to oversee the process, they also laid the pipes and connected them. We continue to be amazed at how this project is unfolding! Water is life!

Last month, our team visited our community of Talmiche, which is in the HueHuetenango Department in the western region of Guatemala. The purpose of the visit was to check in on the team running the Preschool Nutrition Program in Talmiche, as well as to reinforce the program. Linda and Gaby, who cover that region, gave a seminar called "Strengthening Child Nutrition Through Local Resources." The idea is to make sure moms know that there are things available to help them ensure their children are getting the nutrition they need, right in their own local community. Our Chispuditos nutritional supplement provides all of the micronutrients a child needs each month, but when we can add accessible, nutrient-rich foods to the mix, it can spark growth and development even more!

The Preschool Nutrition Program is about more than handing out a supplement every month. It is about equipping communities for the optimal health and development of their children!

There are 117 days until the 2027 Spark Love 5K, and we’re already thinking about the awards! We love that our race awards reflect our geographic footprint. The medals are created by an artist who is from our local area, and we buy the lanyards from artisans in Guatemala.

In today's Outpost Update: Guatemala Edition, we continue with our water journey in El Papayo. In our last video, we started with the generator and the pump in the pumphouse, which power our journey. Today, Gelver, one of our community leaders on the project, talks about what happens when the water comes up out of the ground. Let's listen, and don't miss the ingenuity of the community as they have problem-solved how to secure the pipeline!

The Buda Johnson Jags might not have a game tonight, but that didn’t stop them from putting in work this week! We hosted Coach Carlin and 62 members of the Jags football team Monday morning at the Outpost, and they packed 1550 Feed Kids Right Now weekend bags in 52 minutes! If you ever wonder if there is value in activities like Athletics, Band, Theatre, etc, here’s our 2 cents: These kids showed up early. They were respectful. They worked hard, followed directions and were fun to be around. They cleaned up when they were done. And they helped us feed 1550 kids, providing more than 6200 meals! In other words, there will be 6200+ moments this weekend when our local children will not feel hungry. Thanks, Johnson Jaguars Football and Sam Carlin!

Last week, we hit a milestone in the Feed Kids Right Now weekend backpack program: We surpassed 2000 kids enrolled. 2000 kids served is an incredible number, it's also a sobering number. It's sobering because 1) we have to find the funding to make this happen every single week, and it isn't easy; and 2) there is still a huge unmet need within our geographic footprint.

Remember the $60K in 60 Days campaign this summer, when we asked you to Pray, Give, and Connect? We're asking again.
1. Please pray for Ancora. This work is too important to stop. Pray for us, for our kids, for our school partners, and for the resources to keep feeding the kids!
2. If you can, please invest your treasure in this program. It costs $25 to feed a child for the month. Can you afford that? If so, go to FeedKidsRightNow.com and click the "Join Project Zero" button.
3. We're pretty sure that nobody thinks there should be hungry kids. Who do you know who feels that way? Can you share our important work with them and connect them with us?

In today's Outpost Update - Guatemala Edition - we are starting a Water Journey to tell you about our water project in El Papayo, which is in the southern mountains of Santa Rosa, Guatemala.

Water Is Life. And this is where it all begins for our friends in El Papayo - in the pumphouse.

When we first began this project, we had no idea what we were getting into; we just knew that the community didn't need to be walking a kilometer each way, multiple times a day, to get water. We have learned much together - and we continue to learn - but most importantly, we are moving closer to making this dream a reality!
