Ancora Ministries We Feed Kids! Working in CenTex & Guatemala. Nutrition, clean water & community development programs. We envision a local community where NO child is hungry.

We envision a Guatemala where NO child suffers from malnutrition. We believe that God has a plan for every single child. We partner with vulnerable and underserved communities in Central Texas and Guatemala to make sure children have their the fundamental needs met so that they can be everything they were created to be! What does that look like?
1. It looks like food and nutrition programs so tha

t children can develop to their full potential, and perform at their best because they aren't hungry all the time.
2. It looks like clean water programs so that families can drink water that isn't contaminated with f***l matter (p**p), bacteria, parasites, and other pathogens that make them sick all the time.
3.. It looks like community projects like road improvements, building onto village schools, and health initiatives like anti-parsite treatment for kids.
4. It looks like education programs so that our partner communities can become more resilient, self-sufficient and begin to create opportunitiies for success. Ancora is 100% funded by people who share our passion for helping children and families be everything they were created to be.

$5 will provide nutrition for a child in Guatemala for a month.
$20 will provide weekend food bags for a food-insecure child in Central Texas for a month. You can make a difference today by setting up a monthly donation at https://ancoraministries.org/donate!

A couple of weeks ago, we saw this rug in the office of another nonprofit leader. Who knew that the very next day, we would get our 60 days' notice to vacate the Outpost?

Our current reality feels like a big moment in our story, but here's some real talk: It's also pretty scary. We've made some leaps over the past 6 years, but moving out of the Outpost and into a much larger (and more expensive) space feels a lot like working without a safety net.

In some ways, we don't have a choice but to leap - into another space, a bigger, more expensive space. We've outgrown the Outpost, and it's looking like we have several hundred more students on deck to enroll into the Feed Kids Right Now program at the start of the next school year. But even though we know we need more space, adding on the additional rent is a scary thought.

We also know that if you have all the answers before you take the leap, that's not really faith. So, as we get ready to leap, we are trusting that the net will appear. The net of a new Outpost; the net of dollars to pay the extra rent and feed several hundred more kids.
If you are ready to leap with us, you can help us by donating any amount at this link: https://give-usa.keela.co/dollar60k-in-60-days (BTW, donating monthly is the way to go!)

We are moving into Phase 2 of our big water project in the community of El Papayo, in the rural southern mountains of Guatemala. Last week our team met with the project engineer, the plumber doing the skill work for Phase 2, and the community leaders in El Papayo who will be coordinating the manual labor for the project. In Phase 2, we will be digging trenches and laying pipe from the community well, all the way to our water tank. The distance between the 2 is more than 1 km and will allow us to pump water from the well, into the water tank we constructed on the mountain above the village.

This project has challenged us - our team and our community partners in El Papayo - in a lot of ways, most of them good. Please continue to pray for us as we move toward the once-outrageous dream of providing easy access to water in this community for the first time ever. Like many big construction projects right now, our costs have exceeded our initial budget due to economic conditions and inflation by several thousand dollars. If you would like to make a special contribution to our most ambitious community development project to day, you can do so at this link. This 5-minute pitch given by our Executive Director, Trey Williams, outlines where we are today, and what we need to launch into our next phase of growth. What we didn't know on May 11th was that on May 14th, our need for more space was going to be on a 60-day timetable. Which means that this plan of action has to start now.

NOBODY THINKS KIDS SHOULD GO HUNGRY, and Ancora is doing something about it. This video will explain the next steps that are needed. Please watch it and then SHARE it with someone in your network who is passionate about fighting child hunger.

Today was our last delivery for the '25-'26 school year. Big, gigantic, enormous THANK YOU to our volunteers who made Feed Kids Right Now possible from August to May! This crew of world-changers defied the laws of physics on a weekly basis. Every time we asked, "Do you think you can squeeze one more bin into your car?" the answer was "Absolutely." We'll be working on summer feeding, but on a more limited basis, but if you'd like to join this team of superheroes in the fall, we've got room for you! Email [email protected].

Help us congratulate Lisbet & Victor, who have graduated from our Chispuditos Nutrition Program in Guatemala! We start kids in the program at 6 months and keep them in until they turn 8. We'll get to keep up with these 2, so this isn't "Adios," just "Hasta luego." We're so happy to see them happy and healthy!

Your generosity changes lives, and Lisbet & Victor are 2 of that. Joining Project Zero, our community that invests monthly into the well-being of children from Central Texas to Central America, enables us to say YES to more kids. You can join by going to AncoraMinistries.org and clicking on the Project Zero button.
Thank you!

"Gracias por sembrar." In Guatemala, our Central/Western Region Director, Linda, passed out these seed packets at a meeting with some of our community leaders recently. They were a token of thanks for the seeds of well-being these leaders are planting in their communities.

As we feverishly search for a new place to move into over here in Texas, it is easy to worry about what's going to happen: Our short timeline, the significant increase in rent that we anticipate, and all of the other unknown factors we are stepping into that can be nerve-wracking. But it's also good to remember that a plant can't bear fruit until the seed is planted. And watered. And exposed to sun, nutrients, and time.

The bad news is that we don't know where our next headquarters is going to be yet, and we don't have someone offering us a pile of money to cover the increased cost. The good news is that we've planted the seed. We know that the seed will bear the right fruit at the right time. Just as we are thankful to our community partners - in Guatemala and in Central Texas - for planting seeds in their communities, we are thankful to you.

Thank you to everyone who is planting seeds of hope with your prayers for us to find our new headquarters. Thank you for planting seeds of destination with the connections you have made, introducing us to real estate agents and property owners. And thank you in advance for the fruit that is going to come from all of this!

Keep planting those seeds, and send us a message if you have some specific information for us about our next steps! Thank you!

Well friends, we knew it was coming eventually, and now it’s here. We received our 60 days' notice to vacate the Outpost, and we must be out by July 31. (Which is actually 74 days.) We need your help to locate a new home and more! We knew it was coming, and we had already begun looking for new space, but now we are on a rocket pace.

Here's how you can help:
1. Do you have any contacts from far South Austin to the south side of Kyle, who might have warehouse space to rent, or know someone who does? Please connect us to them!

2. Share this and any other post about our need for a new location. You make know our new landlord and not even realize it!

3. If you are a praying person, will you join me in praying for our next space, and the funds to pay for it? To quote theologian A.W. Tozer: "Prayer does not prepare us for the greater work. Prayer IS the greater work."

This move is part of a bigger movement that is happening within Ancora's universe right now. For more info about that, here's a quick video:
