Here’s your fearless HEA Vice President, Addie Keller, addressing the board and administration on topics important to our members and to public education!

Ms. Keller encouraged the school board to support revising the district’s DOI plan to ensure that the grievance policy remains under local control.

She also presented HEA’s legislative priorities and encouraged to school board to support them, as well.

Remember, as members of HEA, you can reach out to your campus reps with any concerns, questions or ideas. We, the HEA leadership, are here to support you and public education!✨

You can thank an employee organization for your ability to celebrate Labor Day today!

On September 5, 1882, the Central Labor Union organized the first Labor Day celebration in New York City.

Another employee organization, the American Railway Union, organized an historic strike in 1894, which eventually resulted in congress making Labor Day an official holiday that same year.

Remember to always support your employee organizations because they always support you!

We hope you were able to eat your fill and enjoy time with friends you may not have seen since last school year.💙

We hope you heard tonight, loud and clear, that Hays Educators Association is a shining example of what an employee association should be. You are the heart and soul of our organization and we appreciate you all so much! ❤️
