The City of Knoxville is updating its Comprehensive Plan - a long-range policy document that will guide decisions on land use, transportation, and investment priorities over the next 25 years. The process is called “What’s Next Knoxville?”

In the spring, the community shared what they love about Knoxville, what they want to retain, and what they think could change. Now, the project team is asking “How?”

Using the initial feedback, the project team created the draft vision statement and goals, and options for how different priorities could shape the future of Knoxville. They’re asking the community to weigh in on those options by completing a short survey.

AgLaunch's national farmer network, founded in Tennessee, took the stage at the Investing in Rural America conference in Asheville, NC. The event was hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond in partnership with Rural LISC, and our President and CEO, Pete Nelson, was honored to be invited to present.

The conference closed after three inspiring days with a leadership panel featuring University of Tennessee System President Randy Boyd, an entrepreneur and a good friend of AgLaunch.

Our model is simple: farmers help select, trial, and hold equity in the agtech built for them, and regions build their economic futures around it. Opportunities to share that model with leaders investing in rural communities matter, and we are excited to keep building.

Thank you to the partners who make this work possible: University of Tennessee System, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Tennessee Department of Agriculture, LaunchTN, Ag Ventures Alliance, SEDCOR, NSF AgTech Engine in North Dakota, and Knoxville Entrepreneur Center.
