Another book sale is coming your way, this time at the Cedar Bluff branch! Join us this Friday and Saturday, June 12 & 13, 10:00-5:00 each day.

Bag sale begins Saturday afternoon at 12:30pm. Come Friday at 10 am for first choice of 160 boxes of books. Mystery, fiction, history, sci fi, fantasy, special price books and many more. Many children’s books!

Last week the Knox County Board of Education passed a resolution asking the State Legislature to amend the Age-Appropriate Materials Act and give local school districts more flexibility in removing, or not removing, books from school libraries. Friends of the Knox County Public Library will gather for the annual meeting on Monday, July 20, at the East Tennessee History Center at 5:30 pm.

Joel Christopher, executive editor of knoxnews.com and the News Sentinel, will talk about banned books. Because of a state law passed in 2022, Tennessee ranks third behind Florida and Texas in book-banning states, according to PEN America.
