Kingwood Garden Club
November 2026 Yard of the Month
Jan and Ron Knecht
27 New Greens Court | The Greens, Kingwood
The Kingwood Garden Club is delighted to recognize the beautiful home of Jan and Ron Knecht at 27 New Greens Court as its November 2026 Yard of the Month.
The Knechts' home holds a special place in the history of The Greens, as they built the very first home in this charming Kingwood neighborhood. Their property even has a bit of Hollywood history! During construction of their home, the production company filming Tin Cup used their front yard as a staging area for its equipment.
Today, the stately home is surrounded by an exceptionally maintained landscape that perfectly complements its elegant architecture. Two magnificent mature oak trees frame the property, their sweeping branches creating a graceful canopy over the lush, beautifully manicured zoysia lawn.
One of the landscape's most distinctive features is its collection of expertly sculpted holly trees. Their striking shapes, combined with precisely trimmed evergreen hedges, provide year-round structure and a sense of classic formality.
Softening this tailored landscape are generous beds of colorful flowers in shades of pink, rose, and white. Masses of flowering vinca surround the majestic oaks and line the gracefully curved planting beds. Bright green foxtail ferns, flowering salvia, and other ornamental plantings add texture and contrast, while natural stone borders provide a beautiful finishing touch.
The broad expanse of emerald-green lawn, carefully shaped trees, and abundant seasonal color create a harmonious landscape that is as welcoming as it is impressive. From the grand front entrance to the beautifully maintained side gardens, every detail reflects thoughtful design and exceptional care.
The Kingwood Garden Club congratulates Jan and Ron Knecht on their well-deserved selection as November's Yard of the Month and thanks them for helping make Kingwood such a beautiful place to call home.
