❤️ The most powerful voices in prevention are often those of young people themselves.

The Youth Action Board isn't adults talking *to* students. It's students stepping up to educate, empower, and protect one another.

Every student has their own reason for joining YAB. Some want to make a difference. Some want to raise awareness. Others simply want to help create a safer school for their friends and classmates.

No matter what brings them to the table, they leave knowing they have the power to make an impact.

Swipe through to hear directly from YAB members about why they chose to become part of the movement.

Because when students protect students, entire communities become stronger.

Before the first day of school, parents spend countless hours making sure their children have everything they need.

🎒 A backpack.
🥪 A lunch.
💧 A water bottle.
💻 A laptop.

But there's one thing that can't be packed in a backpack...

The knowledge and confidence to recognize online predators, identify manipulation, and know when to ask a trusted adult for help.

This school year, let's prepare our children for more than the classroom. Let's equip them with prevention education that can help keep them safer online and beyond.

❤️ Your support today will help launch two new or sustain three existing Youth Action Boards, empowering students with life-saving prevention education before the bell rings.

🔔 The wait is over. Our Before the Bell Rings campaign starts today!

As families prepare for a new school year with backpacks, school supplies, and class schedules, we're focusing on something just as important: prevention education.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be sharing practical online safety tips, conversation starters, grooming awareness, and resources to help parents, caregivers, educators, and communities better protect children before the school year begins.

This year, we're inviting you to be part of the solution.

❤️ Your gift today will help launch two new or sustain three existing Youth Action Boards, equipping more students with the knowledge and confidence to recognize red flags, stay safer online, identify trusted adults, and help protect their peers.

Together, we can make sure more students start this school year with the tools they need to stay safe.

🔔 Something important is coming...

This back-to-school season, we're launching Before the Bell Rings: a campaign dedicated to helping parents, caregivers, educators, and communities prepare children for more than just the classroom.

Beginning August 4, we'll be raising funds to launch 2 or sustain 3 Youth Action Boards while providing prevention education before school begins.

Because backpacks, pencils, and schedules prepare children for school...

Prevention prepares them for life.

❤️ We hope you'll follow along, share the resources, and join us in helping protect more children, before the bell rings.

Grooming isn't always obvious, and it rarely begins with fear.

More often, it begins with trust.

A person may gradually build a relationship with a child by giving gifts, encouraging secrets, seeking private conversations, or slowly pushing boundaries. These behaviors don't automatically mean someone has harmful intentions, but they are important opportunities to pause, ask questions, and stay engaged in your child's life.

One of the most powerful ways to protect your child is by keeping communication open. Teach them that safe adults never ask them to keep secrets and that they can always come to you if something feels wrong.

Today, on World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we stand with communities around the world in the shared commitment to protect the vulnerable, raise awareness, and prevent exploitation before it occurs.

At Project Protect Our Children, we believe prevention is one of the most powerful tools we have. By equipping youth, parents, educators, and communities with knowledge, we can help recognize warning signs, reduce vulnerabilities, and create safer environments where children can thrive.

Ending child trafficking is not the responsibility of one person or one organization. It takes informed communities, empowered young people, and caring adults who are willing to start the conversation and take action.

Today, and every day, we remain committed to preventing child s*x trafficking, exploitation, and abuse through proactive community engagement, preventative educational programs, awareness, and empowerment opportunities.

Together, we can build a future where every child is safe, supported, and protected.

Our Youth Action Board members aren't just learning about prevention, they're becoming leaders, advocates, and trusted peers who are helping create safer schools and stronger communities.

When young people are given the knowledge, confidence, and opportunity to lead, they become part of the solution. Their voices matter, and their impact reaches far beyond the classroom.

❤️ Every conversation they start, every awareness campaign they lead, and every peer they empower helps build a safer future.

📱 Online Safety Tip for Parents & Caregivers

Set aside just 10 minutes each week to ask your child about their online world.

Instead of asking, "Was everything okay online today?" try questions like:

💬 "Who did you talk to online this week?"
💬 "Did anything make you uncomfortable?"
💬 "Have you met anyone new online recently?"

Keeping these conversations regular, relaxed, and judgment-free helps children feel more comfortable coming to you if something doesn't seem right.

Prevention isn't one big conversation, it's hundreds of small ones that build trust over time.

We all hope our children would tell us if something felt wrong, but fear, embarrassment, confusion, or worry about getting in trouble can make it hard for them to speak up.

That’s why trust is built through more than one conversation.

Keep checking in. Listen without judgment. Remind your child often that they can come to you about anything and that they will never be in trouble for telling the truth.

❤️ Prevention starts with communication.
