Around 100 physical therapy students in Nablus just got hands-on training they won't find in a textbook.

Dr. Laura Vinci de Vanegas, a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist from Utah, spent her mission at An-Najah National University translating theoretical coursework into clinical practice, labs, lectures, hands-on skills training, and patient assessment in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation, brain injuries, amputations, and complex rehabilitation. She also presented on pre- and post-prosthetic training for PTs and MDs at An-Najah Hospital.

Alaa is 15. She can move her left arm again.

An injury in 2025 cost Alaa her collarbone and a shoulder joint. When she first joined HEAL Palestine's swimming academy, she was afraid of the water.

"Thanks to the swimming training here, I can now move my arm again and swim. I'm very happy and proud of this progress."

Ahmad loves reading. Now, thanks to his new glasses, he can see the words clearly.

Ahmad has Down syndrome, speaks English well, and is working toward his dreams one page at a time. He's also enrolling at Shams School, supported by HEAL Palestine.

On August 24, HEAL Palestine distributed 270 boxes of infant milk at Khan Younis's Fishermen's Port, next to our medical point, part of ongoing health and nutritional support for families in Gaza.

Hira is a critical care ICU nurse from the United States. She spent two weeks in Gaza.

During her mission, she visited Al-Hilal Hospital, meeting the patients and staff there and seeing its rehabilitation department.
