Akin South King County Family Resource Center Children's Home Society of Washington + Childhaven = Akin. Our South King Family Resource Center is part of Akin and our current network of 7 FRCs statewide.

The center works with parents, children, and families by assisting them in securing necessary services and support through home visiting programs, parenting education classes and workshops, parent/child activities, support groups, youth and school success activit

ies, health and nutrition programs, and life skills education. Serving Kent, Auburn and surrounding communities, the multi-service SKCFRC provides a realm of resources for families and children at no or very low cost. Services include early childhood education, and parent education. Its programs include Parents as Teachers home visiting classes, Early Head Start and more.

Families across WA state are feeling the impact of food insecurity.

With the freeze and delay of SNAP benefits, thousands of families are struggling to put food on the table. As the full impact of these cuts takes effect, food insecurity is only expected to grow.

The need is NOW.

We have launched a coordinated statewide effort to raise emergency funds and fight hunger, providing families with food, diapers, and household essentials.

Our goal is clear: Raise $100,000 to ensure no child or family goes without the basics they need to survive.
