Huge Congratulations to Kentlake High School’s Boys Basketball recipient of the Colin Pritchard Award, Dom Donati!
This award for many years used to be called the Falcon Award. However, in 2022, Coach Marcus Wilson and the coaching staff made the decision to change the Falcon award to the Colin Pritchard Award. The award was presented in 2022 and 2023, but due to some coaching changes, it was paused. But this year, we were proud to re-introduce it and continue what it stands for.
Colin had a love for life and a deep love for basketball. His joy for basketball began in the Kentlake Falcon Basketball feeder program in third grade. He played every single year, attending individual trainings, team trainings, games and events all the way through his junior year.
He played for Cedar Heights in seventh grade. But unfortunately he got cut and did not make the Cedar Heights team in eighth grade — but he didn’t quit. He came back and made theKentlake team his freshman and sophomore years at Kentlake, and unfortunately his Junior year Basketball was cut short due to Covid and he passed later that year.
Colin was dedicated to the program. In fact, he was the only player to complete the entire program from start to finish, 3rd grade on.
But what made Colin special wasn’t just that he played. It was how he played.
He was loyal.
He was dedicated.
He treated his teammates with respect.
He respected his coaches.
He showed up.
He worked.
He was a true program kid.
That is what this award represents.
The Colin Pritchard Award is given to the player who embodies dedication, loyalty, respect for teammates and coaches, and commitment to the program — someone who represents what it truly means to be a Falcon.
