Kent Youth and Family Services is hiring teachers for our Early Learning Head Start and ECEAP programs!

Our Head Start and Early Childhood Education and Assistance Programs (ECEAP) that are comprehensive, ‘whole-child’ and family-focused preschool services for low-income children ages three to five who live within the Kent School District.

Included in our part-day and full-day center-based preschool opportunities, is an intensive combination of high-quality education, health screenings and referrals, family engagement, parent leadership training, and support.

If you're passionate about helping kids meet developmental milestones and get ready for kindergarten, KYFS might be the place for you!

Our After School program has been making the most of Summer with extended hours and Friday Field Trips to Matthews Beach Park, Golden Gardens Park, and Chambers Creek!

From swimming and splashing in the water, to relaxing lunches in the park, and exploring the outdoors, our participants have been staying active, building friendships, and making the most of every Friday adventure.

Monday Motivation from our After School Writing Club!

Writing Club stepped boldly into creative courage this week with an activity focused on “talking back to worry.”

Members personified their fears through vivid sensory detail, then wrote scripts where they responded with strong, rational voices that reframed the story of the worry/fear.

Partners then acted out their scripts using props and spontaneous stagecraft, transforming hesitation into energized participation.

What began as nervousness became genuine confidence, connection, and expressive play!
