Aloha GIRA Members & Friends,

The Board met with a focus on the plans for restoring Kauai Raceway Park. Here's a quick update:

Kip Furugen is taking the lead on cleanup and rebuilding efforts, with the full support of the Board.

Kip and Fredstan Kaluahine have already cleared a significant amount of sand that washed onto the top end of the track. Mahalo for getting us started!

Kip and his team will assess the condition of the track, turnouts, and return road.

The Board will develop a prioritized task list to guide our restoration efforts.

Track work days will be scheduled in the coming weeks.

I've reached out to DLNR and the Mayor's Office to explore available resources and funding assistance.

We truly appreciate everyone's eagerness to help! There's a tremendous amount of work ahead, and it's going to take all of us working together to bring our track back to life.

Mahalo for your continued support. Together, we'll get it done!

Rob Nelson
