As we approach the end of the calendar year, 2016, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes for a Happy New Year---filled with goals, accomplishments, and priorities that are beneficial to our beloved home-town, Kekaha! It is so important for each and every one of us to make an effort and to take the time to get involved in projects and activities which reflect our willingness to seek ways in which collaborative endeavors may be pursued. Our town is growing by leaps and bounds, and in that process, we all need to be mindful that being kind and considerate towards one another goes a long way! Random acts of kindnesses are welcomed! Doing your part to keep our town safe and secure would be appreciated. Be considerate in the ways you meeander through Kekaha! Sincerely, MrB

Dear Kekaha Residents: Whether you are an "olditmer" (member of a kama'aina family) or a "newbie" (someone who has moved to Kekaha from somewhere else), remember this: This is OUR town! ALL of us have a claim or a stake here! ALL of us can and should
pitch in when, where, and how we can to make this place a safe, secure, and comfortable community in which to reside. I have lived at the same residence for nearly 80 years, but I wasn't born here. There are other families whose roots go back even longer than mine. There are those who recently moved here who have become "a part of the community" by sending their children to school here in Kekaha.....attending church....going to meetings....keeping their yards neat and clean.....and establishing rapport with their neighbors. Yes, we all have different backgrounds. Yes, we all have different interests, but in spite of our differences, we DO have similarities, as well. One common ground which needs collaborative effort is to be respectful of each other and to extend the essence of "aloha" however that might be possible to "give and receive." Sincerely, MrB

Mahalo, MJ, members of the community organization and all of the Kekaha residents who showed up tonight (Monday, Sept. 14) at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center. We were united in our concerns regarding negative impacts upon our community, specifically, with the rash of robberies that have been taking place. Suffice it to say, there is clear and strong evidence that our concerns will lead us to become pro-actively engaged and involved in addressing the myriad of concerns relevant to this topic. It will take time. It will take effort. It will take diligence. But, not matter what, it is clearly evident that WE will take the steps to become organized, to look for resources, to get others committed and involved in the process to be vigilant and watchful over what we hold dear and precious in our lives----our personal safety and property. Here is an opportunity for ALL of us to unite! In the next few days, the next few weeks, the next few months, we will meet; get in touch with our friends and neighbors; share information; set strategies; promote awareness; and create a NETWORK of neighborhood watches to be the "eyes and ears" of our community, 24-7. Where there's a will, we will find a way! Let's work together on this one, Kekaha residents! Keep your eyes on this website and let your family, friends, and neighbors know where and how to get involved, as well! Sincerely, MrB
