Community LINC Our mission is to end the cycle of homelessness for this generation and the next. A mix of staff and volunteers deliver classes in age-related groups.

Community LINC's mission is to end homelessness, impact poverty and remove barriers to self-sufficiency for the families we serve. Each year, Community LINC provides Interim and Immediate Housing to approximately 150 homeless families in the greater Kansas City area. Our vision is to end family homelessness in Kansas City by providing the tools and resources families need to break the cycle of homelessness. With the advocacy and support of staff and volunteers, our residents reduce or eliminate their debt, establish and maintain savings and work on life skills and self-sufficiency. Community LINC’s Children’s Program provides resilience and nutritional life skills training, as well as mental wellness services and academic advocacy and support. Our goal is to prepare children to live independent and healthy lives. Community LINC also provides Aftercare Services once families are in their permanent homes. This continued support ensures families will maintain their independence. To learn more about our programs, the families we serve and our impact on the community, contact us at [email protected] or 816.531.3727.

A safe home is just the beginning.

At Community LINC, we know that building stability means caring for the whole person. That's why mental wellness is an important part of the support we provide to families.

Through access to mental wellness services, adults and children can have a safe space to process challenges, build healthy coping skills, strengthen relationships, and work toward their goals.

Together, we can help families move forward with greater confidence, connection, and hope.

Happy first day of fall!

As we welcome a new season, we're taking a little trip down memory lane and reminiscing on some of our favorite fall moments at Community LINC. Fall has a way of bringing people together, and we're grateful for every family, child, volunteer, and community partner who has helped make these moments possible.

Here's to making more memories together this season!

Become Part of the Solution

Volunteering to help families experiencing homelessness isn’t just about giving your time—it’s about becoming an integral part of the solution. The problem we are facing is that roughly 30% of the homeless population is made up of families. It is one of society’s most pressing issues and needs and we want to end it. Our volunteers provide hope and service for a positive change to become part of the solution. When volunteers dedicate their time to providing essential support and assistance to create lasting change and build a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Art: The conscious use of skill, imagination, and creative power to express ideas, convey emotions, or create objects of aesthetic beauty.

In a world full of history, wonder, and beauty, art allows us to express emotion, share experiences, and communicate across cultures, places, and time. Through our Early Learning & Wellness Center, Community Kids is grateful for the opportunity to foster the agency of the next generation and the power they hold to use color, texture, and imagery as tools - creating not just an image or product, but a story that contains a million words.

In celebration of National Art in Education Week, we want to highlight the immersive world of art within the early childhood classroom - not as a single lesson plan, but as a daily, integrated part of the child's world and a universal language.
