Community LINC Our mission is to end the cycle of homelessness for this generation and the next. A mix of staff and volunteers deliver classes in age-related groups.

Community LINC's mission is to end homelessness, impact poverty and remove barriers to self-sufficiency for the families we serve. Each year, Community LINC provides Interim and Immediate Housing to approximately 150 homeless families in the greater Kansas City area. Our vision is to end family homelessness in Kansas City by providing the tools and resources families need to break the cycle of hom

elessness. With the advocacy and support of staff and volunteers, our residents reduce or eliminate their debt, establish and maintain savings and work on life skills and self-sufficiency. Community LINC’s Children’s Program provides resilience and nutritional life skills training, as well as mental wellness services and academic advocacy and support. Our goal is to prepare children to live independent and healthy lives. Community LINC also provides Aftercare Services once families are in their permanent homes. This continued support ensures families will maintain their independence. Please join us in welcoming Ashley Tafoya, our new Assistant Director of Children’s Services! In her role, Ashley will guide our youth programs, support and mentor our dedicated staff, and build strong partnerships with families to ensure every child has a safe, supportive place to grow.

Bringing near ten years of experience in community-based education and instructional leadership, Ashley is truly passionate about creating inclusive, trauma-informed spaces. She is excited to bring her playful energy and relationship-centered approach to Community LINC, helping families feel supported, valued, and empowered as they navigate periods of transition.

Outside of her work, Ashley channels her creativity into making music, exploring the outdoors, and finding new adventures throughout the city inspired by the arts. You can often find her checking out the local Kansas City scene, looking for her next creative spark, and cheering on the Chiefs.

🎉🎉 A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to Community LINC’s Back to School Night last night!

We’re so grateful to everyone who brought the fun, energy, and support to make it such a memorable night for our families! A special thank you to the Apartment Association for providing all of the delicious food and to our amazing volunteers who helped make the evening possible.
