Every Wednesday morning, one or two early-stage startups present their companies to a diverse audience of their peers, mentors, educators, and advisors. Prior to presenting, the founder prepares by incorporating lessons from the Kauffman Founders School “Powerful Presentations” series, featuring Nathan Gold. Each founder presents for six minutes, followed by a 20-minute question-and-answer session

with the audience. Afterward, each startup receives feedback via an audience survey and from the local organizers in their city. The culture surrounding 1 Million Cups is that of a supportive, neutral space welcoming entrepreneurs to be open and honest about their businesses and the challenges they face.

This award belongs to every person who showed up to learn, to support our local entrepreneurs, and who was brave enough to step on stage and ask for support from the community. It belongs to everyone who held the microphone and asked a question, offered a connection, or suggested a new way of thinking to our presenters.

What a year! Thank you to everyone who presented, volunteered, and helped make such a strong community in 2025. We’re taking a winter break, but don’t worry, we’ll be "Back in Orange" on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026, at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center. More details to come!

We’ll wrap up 2025 at 9 a.m. in the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center by celebrating our past presenters and our city's entrepreneurs.
