Remembering Dr. King today….

Seeing his photos in color reminds us that his fight for justice wasn’t so long ago, and the work is far from over.

Today, we honor Dr. King’s legacy by protecting his dream for our youth—a future filled with equity, opportunity, and hope.

It takes a village to give our children a fighting chance…Let’s keep the dream alive, together.

Grateful for a community that invests in VKC youth!

This summer, the Morris family won a silent auction prize at our Summer Vibes + Black Art fundraiser—a custom portrait by ! Ajia picked up the stunning piece last Saturday and was thrilled. 🥰

Special thanks to Harold for donating his beautiful artistry, and to the Morris family for four years of support. Our Village is stronger because of you!

It takes a village...

The Village KC areas of focus are financial literacy, college/career readiness, health and wellness, recreation, and community service. Starting in January 2020, we will be housed inside of DeLaSalle Education Center, and begin serving the students through various programming. We will partner with businesses and other non-profit organizations to provide workshops, teen summits, and recreational activities.

There’s no need to re-invent the wheel. Collaboration is key, and THAT is what makes The Village work.

“It takes a village to raise a community.”- DJS
