💔 Rainbow Meadows Family,
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we mourn the loss of one of our beloved Rainbow Meadows icons, Midget.
Midget recently experienced a severe medical emergency known as intussusception, a condition in which one segment of the intestine folds into another, much like a collapsing telescope. This can obstruct the passage of food and water, compromise blood flow, and result in extreme pain and life-threatening colic.
During her evaluation at the Kansas State Veterinary Health Center, it was also discovered that Midget had a tumor that was contributing to her declining condition. After a thorough examination and consultation with the veterinary team, it was determined that she was not a suitable candidate for invasive surgery and that her chances of recovery were extremely poor.
With guidance and recommendation from the veterinary specialists at K-State, and with Midget's welfare as our highest priority, the difficult decision was made to humanely euthanize her, ensuring she remained comfortable and at peace.
Midget was truly one of a kind and held a special place in the hearts of everyone at Rainbow Meadows. Her gentle spirit, resilience, and presence touched countless lives. The loss of a horse like Midget is not something we simply move on from. Grief remains with us because love remains with us.
While our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the time we shared with her and the memories she leaves behind.
