Camp Tomah Shinga We provide an outdoor camp experience in the beauty of the Flint Hills, based in faith.

Tomah Shinga is a native Kaw Indian phrase meaning “shining water.” The camp name was inspired by Lyons Creek which borders the camp on the west. Camp Tomah Shinga is geographically one of the largest ELCA camps in the United States. The camp is located in the historic and scenic Flint Hills which surround Geary County, Kansas.

Who's ready to get a little muddy?!

The Tough Camper 5K Obstacle Race is coming up October 3rd at 9:00 AM! Take on the trails, hills, mud pit, fire jump, warped wall, and more. Runners of all experience levels are welcome. There will be plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself!

Match Day is coming up on October 20, and this year we have a BIG project we’re excited to share with you!

We’re working to update and improve the bathrooms in our dining hall, making them more accessible, welcoming, and functional for the hundreds of campers and guests who walk through our doors each year.

Every penny, every gift, and every person who shares our mission can help make this project possible!
