ADOPTION POST REWIND
I was recently talking with an adopter who asked for a copy of her adoption picture. Then she said something that stopped me in my tracks:
"It was never posted."
What?! That couldn't be right. We post our adoptions every Sunday without fail.
I immediately set out to prove her wrong, only to discover there was no adoption post for Sunday, September 27. The work had been done. The photos had been downloaded and edited. The adoption stories had been written, rewritten, and ready to go.
Then I found a reel of adoption photos from that day.
Wait a minute...
Creating the reel is the very last step before posting. I hit play, watched a few photos scroll by, and then it stopped. Somewhere along the way, a technical glitch prevented the post from ever making it to Facebook.
I'm relieved it wasn't entirely my fault, but I still should have confirmed that everything posted correctly. My apologies to all of the wonderful adopters from that week who never got to see their adoption photos shared.
As they say, better late than never! Please enjoy these adoption photos and the happy stories that go with them. ❤️🐾

Our staff has been riding the struggle bus this week thanks to a wicked stomach virus making its way around. It left us short-staffed and scrambling to cover shifts, but we powered through.
We're especially grateful to our board members, who stepped in to hand out Halloween candy at Historic Downtown Dandridge's Trick-or-Treat event last night. Their support allowed us to keep things running smoothly during a challenging week.
The dogs from the 20-dog abandonment case are now officially available for adoption, and we're thrilled that several have already found homes. We're also happy to report that an arrest has been made in connection with the case.
While adoptions remain slower than we'd like, there are so many deserving dogs and cats at the shelter waiting for their chance. Stop by, take a dog for a walk, snuggle a kitten, and you just might meet your new best friend. ❤️🐾

Happy Halloween and, maybe even more importantly, Happy Caturday! 🎃🐱

These beautiful cats are available for adoption at CARE, along with many of their feline friends. They'd love a visit from you! We'll be open today from 12-4, and don't forget to stop by the nursery to meet all the floofy kittens waiting for homes. ❤️

"Thank you" hardly seems like enough for the incredible support our community showed after we took in 20 abandoned dogs from Dandridge. When we needed help most, you answered the call. Donations of dog food, kennels, supplies, and monetary gifts poured in, giving these dogs exactly what they needed as they began their journey to safety and healing.

We're excited to share that all 20 dogs are now available for adoption! Each one is full of personality, love, and potential, and they're ready to find the forever homes they deserve. From all of us at CARE, thank you for standing with these dogs when they needed it most. Now let's help them find their happy endings." 🐾
