Sunday Funday looks a little different around here.

A small airplane.
A nervous passenger.
A lot of love.

When Dachshund Haus & Corgi Rescue reached out for help transporting Lola, we were honored to answer the call.

Today, we had the privilege of helping her travel from Michigan to Ohio on the next leg of her rescue journey. Every rescue takes a village, and today that village happened to include a runway.

Making the trip even more special, two of our own rescue dachshunds from Dachshund Haus & Corgi Rescue came along for the ride. ❤️

Safe travels, sweet girl. Your next chapter is waiting. 🐾✈️ Dachshund Haus Rescue Bryan Ede Brad Rice

A different kind of rescue is being built in the Tennessee mountains.

Not just for Old English Sheepdogs needing a place to land…
but for people carrying exhaustion, grief, loneliness, and noise too.

The Piper Foundation at Stillhouse Ridge is being designed as more than a dog rescue.
A quieter place.
A softer place.
A place where healing might happen slowly:
through morning fog, slow walks, warm light, and the quiet presence of a dog beside you.

Because sometimes rescue goes both ways.

300 acres in the mountains.

A place for them —
where rescue dogs live freely in their own space, not in kennels.

And a place for you —
private cabins, quiet mornings, movement, stillness, and time to reset.

A place where you can step into their world,
walk with them, spend time with them,
and be part of something that actually matters.

This is the Piper Foundation.
And this is Stillhouse Ridge.

For them. And for you.

It didn’t start with land.
It didn’t start with cabins.

It started with her.

Piper changed everything —
and this first dig is more than construction…
it’s a promise.

A promise to build something that lasts.
A place for the ones still waiting.
And a place for people to come back to themselves.

This is the beginning of Stillhouse Ridge —
and the heart behind The Piper Foundation.

For Piper.

First dig on a mountain property in Tennessee featuring a memorial for Piper, marking the beginning of Stillhouse Ridge and the Piper Foundation dog rescue mission.

From Michigan to Texas, one life at a time.
Flights like this are the reason the Piper Foundation exists — to give dogs the second chance Piper believed every animal deserves. Today we fly for her, and for every rescue still waiting.”

Miss Piper loved the sun, the quiet moments, and every soul she met.
Though she is no longer beside us, her spirit lives on in every rescue, every second chance, and every life the Piper Foundation will help save.
This mission began with her — and it continues because of her.”
