The answer: YES!!

One of the reasons we started Heard + Held is because we believe families shouldn’t go home empty handed after experiencing pregnancy or infant loss. What if every church, hospital, OBGYN office, rural clinic, and ultrasound boutique had care packages on hand to send home with bereaved families?

One of our community partners told us that it means the world to be able to send her clients home with something tangible to remind them that they are not alone.

We are so grateful for the organizations we partner with who trust us to help care for the families they care for.

We love working with local makers and small businesses, especially those owned by parents who understand pregnancy and infant loss. These partnerships allow us to invest in our local community while also supporting families across the country who are walking through loss.

One. Thousand.

One thousand care packages. One thousand cards. One thousand mamas. One thousand families. More than one thousand babies remembered.

Heard and Held exists to make sure no mother walks through pregnancy or infant loss alone. We send free care packages — tangible reminders that her baby mattered, that her grief is real, and that she is not forgotten.

To those who have supported H+H over the last few years, thank you!! This would not be possible without your partnership.

To families who have received a care package, it is an honor to walk alongside you. Your babies are loved and remembered.

was one of our very first community partners, and owner Kayla has been one of our biggest cheerleaders over the last few years. We provide pre-made care packages for Kayla to keep in the office for clients who need them — and as you can see from her recently refreshed space, she has incredible taste! 😍

We love how thoughtful she is in wanting to care for her clients and provide them something tangible to leave the office with. Because of community partners like Kayla, mothers across East Tennessee and beyond can receive a thoughtfully curated care package to show them they are not alone.

It's been a while since we've shared a new blog post. Today we are remembering Samuel's 6th birthday, so I decided to share some of my deepest feelings from that season as well as some of the theological wrestlings I carry with me today.

We’re throwing it back to when I used to hand make all of the body care products that went into our care packages!

We wanted to do something special for our giveaway winners, and then we realized that we are around 100 care packages away from have sent 1,000 boxes nationwide!

So the next ~100 care packages will include at least one handmade body care product, and we will make sure to add something extra special to our 1,000th box.

Thank you for helping us support families walking through the loss of a baby. We truly could not have accomplished what we have in less than 4 years without the support of our community.

Unexpecting by Rachel Lewis is the absolute best book I have ever read about pregnancy and infant loss, and I have read my fair share of them. Lewis shares real stories from real parents, explores many different perspectives and complexities associated with loss, shares ways loved ones can support grieving families, and writes with the compassion and tenderness of someone who herself has survived loss. She beautifully makes room for both hope AND lament. She writes honestly about how her faith impacted her story while also writing broadly enough to include those who do not share her faith.

We include a copy in every one of our care packages, and it is the top book I recommend to pastors, healthcare providers, loved ones, and our clients. We’re so grateful to partner with the author and with Baker Book House to get these books at a wholesale price.
