Appalachian Ministries of the Smokies Events & Updates AMOS formerly Appalachian Outreach is a poverty relief ministry in partnership with the community. to families in need.

Appalachian Ministries of the Smokies (AMOS) formerly Appalachian Outreach began in 1984 as a home repair ministry for poverty level people, by the Campus Ministries Department of Carson-Newman University, Jefferson City, Tennessee. Since then Appalachian Outreach has expanded its ministries to include a homeless shelter called Samaritan House, a food distribution ministry, a clothing program, rec

ycling programs, and many other outreach programs. Aside from these ministries, the "AMOS" hosts several events every year geared toward poverty relief in the community. Examples of these are the back to school event, providing back packs and schools supplies to families in need; and the coats for the cold, providing coats, heaters, winter items, etc.

Just a reminder, tomorrow is the Free Medical Clinic for June. You do not have to be a client at the food pantry to use this service. It is open to anyone. Questions go to ramusa.org

It has come to our attention that there is some confusion about our hours when searching us up on Google. Please note the address you are reading the hours for. We have two buildings, the food pantry and the donation center. The food pantry is not open on Mondays and Wednesdays. We use those days for pick up and sort food deliveries.
