The Joshua Fund Dog Rescue The Joshua Fund is a 501c3 Registered Non Profit Organization dedicated to saving the lives of dogs from high-kill shelters throughout the United States.

We are an all volunteer, foster-based rescue. The Joshua Fund Dog Rescue needs your help! Our rescue operations have literally come to a halt. As a national rescue with numerous dogs in private foster homes around the United States, transporting dogs to NY for adoption has become a virtual impossibility. Caring for our existing dogs has drained our reserves and has severely hindered our ability to rescue other dogs from high-kill shelters. PLEASE, consider making a donation so that we can continue saving lives!

Meet Calvin!

Calvin is a handsome one-year-old Golden Retriever mix with a mellow, easygoing personality and a playful, curious side. He is fully house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and knows how to sit. He enjoys walks, car rides, playing with toys, swimming, and, just as much, relaxing and enjoying some quiet time with his favorite person.

Calvin is a true people dog who loves being by your side. He is affectionate and even considers himself a bit of a lap dog! He is comfortable with men, women, children, and seniors, and he enjoys the company of both dogs and cats. He is also a respectful boy who does not destroy things in the house.

One of Calvin’s favorite places is his crate, which he happily uses as his own safe and comfortable space. He is a quiet boy who rarely barks and has a low activity level, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a more laid-back pup.

Calvin’s ideal home would be a calm, loving home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely enjoy some outdoor time. He does have one little quirk: he is nervous about going outside by himself and prefers to have his person with him. A family who will patiently accompany him outside and continue building his confidence would be a wonderful match. If there isnât a fenced yard, regular walks and opportunities for car rides and adventures with his person would work well too.

Most of all, Calvin wants to be with his people. If you are looking for a sweet, mellow, affectionate boy who will happily follow you around and then curl up beside you, Calvin may be your perfect match!

Meet Marley! 🐾

Marley is an adorable 8-month-old Lab mix weighing about 40 pounds, and we don’t think she is going to be a very large dog. She is fully vetted and spayed and is ready to find her forever family!

Marley is an energetic, athletic girl who loves to run, play, and have fun with other dogs. She enjoys dogs of all ages and sizes and is always ready for a good game. She can jump impressively high, so her future family will want to make sure she has a secure, appropriate yard.

But Marley isn’t all go, go, go! Once she comes inside, she settles beautifully. She readily goes into her crate, where she is calm and happy to chew on a bone or play with a stuffed toy. So far, she has been very good about leaving her toys intact.

Marley is a true social butterfly. She gets excited when she sees people and absolutely loves attention. She wants to be where her people are and seems eager to form a strong bond with her family. In fact, even when she is busy playing with the other dogs, she will often leave them behind just to come check in with her person. We think she is going to be an incredibly loyal and devoted companion.

She has also done wonderfully on outings. During a visit to a pet supply store, Marley did great meeting new people and children. She is curious, friendly, and confident in new situations. She is also relaxed around cats.

Marley is a smart girl who already knows her name, has pretty good recall, and knows how to sit. With her intelligence, enthusiasm, and desire to please, she should be a lot of fun to continue training.

If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate, athletic young dog who loves both people and other animals, Marley could be your girl! ❤️

She is ready to find the family who will give her all the love and attention she is so eager to return.

💙 INTRODUCING CHARLIE: BIG BOY. BIG HEART. EVEN BIGGER CUDDLES. 💙

This handsome guy is an 80+ lb lap dog who clearly has no idea how big he is — and we wouldn’t have it any other way! He’ll be 1 year old on November 26th, and he is growing into the sweetest, most lovable companion.

He absolutely loves people and tends to pick his person and stick close by. Once he bonds with you, expect to have a very large shadow following you from room to room. 🥰

🐾 Good with other dogs
🐾 Has lived with children and cats
🐾 House trained
🐾 Affectionate, loyal, and people-oriented
🐾 Professional oversized lap dog

He’s still young, still learning, and has so much love to give. What he really needs is a family who will adore his goofy, affectionate personality and appreciate having 80+ pounds of love convinced he belongs directly in their lap. ❤️

Who is ready to give this big sweetheart the forever home he deserves? 🐾

Introducing Bourdreau! 💙

Boudreau is a good-natured, gentle, 18 month old Lab mix with a huge capacity for love and close companionship.
Boudreau is an incredibly loyal and devoted dog who enjoys being included in daily family activities and desires close bonds with those he loves. He is friendly with people of all ages.

Boudreau is obedient and submissive, with a strong desire to please. He is a low-to-medium-energy dog, depending on the setting and rarely, if ever, barks. He is perfectly content to curl up in your lap for cuddles and watch the world go by, or he can enthusiastically engage in a game of fetch. When his foster parents aren’t available for snuggle time, Boudreau will happily cuddle up with his foster fur brother for some extra loving.

In spite of Boudreau’s past neglect before coming into rescue, he exhibits an unparalleled joy for living and makes the most of every day. Outside, Boudreau loves to run, jump, and play with other dogs. His favorite activities include chasing his friends, playing with toys, engaging in tug-of-war, fetching a ball,
and swimming in the pond. Although Boudreau has access to multiple fenced acres, he remains close to the house, his people, and the other dogs. Boudreau is friendly with both indoor and outdoor cats and lives near his foster family’s cows, but he pays them no mind. He can be a bit timid in novel settings outside his home, such as the vet clinic or noisy, busy places, but he responds well to encouragement and gains confidence.

While Boudreau enjoys being with his people most of all, he is also comfortable being home alone. Boudreau is house- and crate-trained, walks easily on a leash, rides well in a car, eats slowly, and takes treats gently.

Above all, Boudreau is a loving, loyal boy who simply wants to be part of a family and share his joyful
spirit with the people he loves.
