One day of fun made into two! Another year of Jay Volunteer Fire Department and Christmas in the Forks bringing you the best 4th of July in the Adirondacks.

On Saturday, July 4th we’ve got the parade at noon (interested in entering the parade? Message us!). After the parade, join us at the Jay Volunteer Fire Department for games, food, music, and even a beer stand provided by Hex and Hop.

On Sunday, July 5th at 4pm we’ll have a smaller field day (limited food option, maybe some games and live music), but add in some fireworks! At 9:15pm we’ll have a great show from Santore’s World Famous Fireworks.

We are very sorry for the change in our normal 4th of July routine, but due to circumstances out of our control we are unable to make the fireworks happen. Our sincerest condolences to the family of Dr. Joseph Clauss for their loss. We are very grateful for the community’s continued support.

Special announcement - The Jay Volunteer Fire Department 4th of July celebration Committee with assistance from the Christmas in the Forks Committee has been hard at work for months planning this year’s event . The festivities will begin with the Saturday, July 4th 12 O’clock noon annual parade . We have plenty of surprises in store to make this parade very special to celebrate our Nation’s 250th Birthday . To enter the parade there is still time to do so by reaching out to Dean Joy at 518-524-2696, Jim Crowningshield at 518-534-4143 , or Randy Douglas at 518-569-3582. Festivities will continue all day at the field day with lots of children’s games , concession stands , and a beer stand provided by Hex and Hop from Bloomingdale N.Y. . Live music will also be provided at the field day . Please stay tuned to the JCN and the Jay Volunteer Fire Department page for more details . On a sad note due to the untimely death of beloved Dr. Joseph Clauss from Coyote Fireworks are Saturday , July 4th fireworks show had to be rescheduled . Graciously Santore’s World Famous Fireworks has agreed to do our much anticipated fireworks showing in memory of longtime Jay Fire Department member , and Town of Jay Public official Gerry Hall on Sunday evening July 5th at approximately 9:15 P.M. . The field day will once again be open on Sunday, July 5th at 4 P. M. ( until the fireworks display ends ) with only the concession stand open for hotdogs and Hamburg’s and possibly some live entertainment. We apologize for the inconvenience however the changes that had to be made are out of our control . We send our deepest sympathy to Dr. Joe’s family and friends . We also are very grateful for Jeff Ward and Peter Henry from Santore’s World famous fireworks for coming to our rescue. We guarantee our community that you will not be disappointed in this outstanding fireworks show that will be provided .

Reminder Rabies Clinic now until 7:30 at Jay Fire department! Alternate parking will be at Devin’s Garage. Please use caution when driving in this area as we have members directing traffic in the road for this event! A recommended donation of $5 per pet!
