Introducing the Adirondack Rail Trail App

Excited to share the launch of the new Adirondack Rail Trail App, a free mobile resource designed to enhance the visitor experience and encourage exploration of the region’s communities, businesses, and attractions.

Developed by ROOST in partnership with local technology company UpNCoding, the app features interactive maps, trip-planning tools, and important trail information.

Available for both Apple and Android devices, the app helps trail users:
• Plan trips before they arrive
• Locate trail access points and parking areas
• Discover nearby lodging, dining, and gear rentals
• Explore local events and attractions
• Navigate confidently with offline trail maps

As trail users begin exploring the Adirondack Rail Trail this season, we encourage businesses and organizations to help spread the word. To support your outreach efforts, we’ve created printed materials, downloadable web and social graphics, and photo assets to help promote the trail. The resource page also includes information about how businesses and events are featured within the app.

For more information and to download the app - visit: https://www.roostadk.com/business-resources/adirondack-rail-trail-app

Town of Jay Amnesty Day

Clear your clutter and mark your calendars for Amnesty Day on Saturday, May 16, from 7:00am to 1:00pm or until the bins are full. Town of Jay residents are invited to bring bulky waste, scrap metal, and electronics to the Highway Department at 168 Valley Road. This free service is a great opportunity to dispose of everything from furniture and appliances to old computers and mattresses. There is a limit of one Freon-containing item and four tires (off-rim and clean) per household.

To keep the event running smoothly, please remember that construction debris, hazardous materials, and propane tanks are strictly prohibited. You will need to bring proof of residency, and for safety reasons, all children must remain in the vehicle during drop-off.

If you have questions about specific items, feel free to contact the town office at (518) 647-2204 ext. 125.
