Who doesn’t love the beat of a marching band. Or better yet two marching bands! It was an honor yesterday to thank our men and women who have served our country at the Monroe County Veterans Parade.

"Isn't great to love things." Christina Mohammed Murray and Amanda Mohammed are building a business with love and giving back in a big way. They couldn't attend our Gathering for Good, where we announced that their fund, which supports our unrestricted grantmaking, has helped us give $5,000 to three local nonprofits for mental health services. I shared a video from the evening so they could share in the joy of their giving. 💕

This week I attended the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau's annual "Marketing Bites: tricks, treats & takeaways," and it was fun and informative. We went trick-or-treating from room to room, getting tips at each stop. We learned a lot about using AI for content and graphics, which I can share with the nonprofit organizations and funds I work with. I enjoyed seeing the sweet, talented Kathleen Reilly and getting a peek at her wizardry!

Thank you to the Pocono Chamber of Commerce for your Member Mixer this week at the Sherman Theater. These mixers are always a good opportunity to catch up with people from the business community and meet new folks. The Chamber's Ambassador program is a great way to inform members of all their benefits. It was an added bonus to get to see the work done in the Sherman Theater over the past year. Thank you for the work you do in our community!

This morning, I met with Financial Advisor Jeffrey Weekes and Elder Law attorney Lori Cerato to discuss our upcoming event, Wills & Estate Planning Made Simple , co-hosted by the County Bar Association. Everyone has a unique vision of their legacy. This event is intended to help folks of any age and stage of life learn how to build a plan and set goals for their future. Giving strategically can be part of that plan, and the Community Foundation is happy to help.

We created the Stroudsburg Youth Field Hockey Association fund earlier this year with Amanda Parrish, and she's already off to a great start! We were so glad to help get this started and make it possible. It was great to see the families, kids and dogs out on the Monroe County Pennsylvania field Sunday afternoon.
Keep on playing, girls!

Friday I attended a healthcare symposium provided by Misericordia University and Geisinger on connected care: aligning, education, innovation, and community health. As a community partner and thought leader, it was important to attend, connect and learn. The keynote speaker Dr. Elena Rios of National Hispanic Health Foundation (NHHF) spoke about the importance of healthcare connections in communities. Has a funder and leader, the Community Foundation has a roll to play. Nice job!!
