🎳 2026 BOWLERS FOR SIGHT EVENT PHOTOS
Here are some memorable moments from our inaugural Marian Boehm Memorial Bowlers for Sight Tournament, presented by BowlerX.com.

One of the event’s most meaningful features was the opportunity for Sights for Hope clients to bowl alongside participating teams, demonstrating firsthand what is possible when people focus on capability rather than limitation.

We hope to add more photos to this album. If you have images you would like to share, please send them to [email protected].

Thank you to everyone who helped make our first Bowlers for Sight Tournament such a memorable success. We’re already looking forward to next year!

🎳🏆 A CHAMPION ON AND OFF THE LANES
Congratulations to Owen Darby, who was named the 2026 LehighValleyLive.com Male Bowler of the Year today — the seventh time he has earned this honor.

While Owen’s accomplishments on the lanes are remarkable, we are most grateful for the role that he and his wife, Sights for Hope Board Vice President Devin Darby, played in helping make yesterday’s sold-out Marian Boehm Memorial Bowlers for Sight Tournament, presented by BowlerX.com, such a success.

From the beginning, we wanted the tournament to be about more than bowling. We wanted participants to share the experience with clients who are blind or have visual impairments. Owen and Devin helped us turn that vision into reality. They used their bowling knowledge and experience to develop the tournament format, integrate our guest client bowlers into the competition, and ensure the event ran smoothly from start to finish.

Congratulations, Owen, on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you both for helping us clearly see what's possible.

Owen Darby and Jenna Henderson are the Bowlers of the Year.

🎳🌟 A SOLD-OUT SUCCESS
Congratulations to Megan’s Ally Cats, which captured the championship trophy and cash prize from sold-out 2026 Marian Boehm Memorial Bowlers for Sight Tournament, presented by BowlerX.com. 🏆

Seventeen teams came together at Steel City Bowl & Brews for our inaugural afternoon of fun, fellowship, and friendly competition in support of Sights for Hope.

Our sponsors and participants helped us exceed our goal by raising more than $14,000 and honor the life and legacy of Marian Boehm, a dedicated Lehigh Valley Braille Guild volunteer whose commitment to helping others created opportunities for countless people who could not read print.

One of the event’s most meaningful aspects was the opportunity for bowlers to share the lanes with Sights for Hope clients who are blind or live with visual impairments. By bowling together, participants experienced firsthand what can happen when people focus on possibility rather than limitation.

🧒 A KEYSTONE COMMITMENT TO CHILDREN
Pennsylvania's commitment to addressing vision loss dates back to a 1933 amendment to the state constitution. That commitment includes helping children protect their eyesight before vision problems interfere with learning and development.

Sights for Hope and its fellow Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB) member agencies provide free vision screenings for children ages 0-6, connect families with follow-up care when concerns are identified, and deliver community education on eye health and safety.

There are approximately 967,000 Pennsylvania children ages 0-6. Every one of them deserves the opportunity to clearly see what's possible.

Congratulations to our colleagues at Vision Corps

Thrilled to congratulate Vision Corps for receiving the Community Mobility Champion Award. This first-time award, presented by UZURV, recognizes an individual or organization that has demonstrated a commitment to advocacy and partnership resulting in increased community mobility for those living with blindness and low vision.

VisionCorps has pursued innovative strategies to advocate for greater mobility options. In addition to travel training and orientation programs, the organization implements collaborative initiatives to expand transportation options for the people it serves living with blindness and low vision. For example, it is currently developing a partnership called LionsLift, which would organize Lions Club members as volunteer drivers to provide transportation to the blind and low-vision community. Sights for Hope is proud to be a leading PAB agency, empowering people to succeed however they see the world.

🏛️ MR. Z GOES TO HARRISBURG
Sights for Hope Executive Director Dennis Zehner visited Pennsylvania’s State Capitol today to advocate for the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB), of which Sights for Hope is one of 25 independent member agencies. Here he is pictured with Rep. Steve Samuelson.

Each year, PAB receives state support and distributes funding among its member agencies – helping organizations like Sights for Hope empower people to succeed however they see the world. Together, PAB agencies provide rehabilitative and prevention services that strengthen lives and communities across the Keystone State.
