Join us for our next Scriptural Reasoning gathering as we reflect together on Pilgrimage in the Abrahamic Scriptures.

Pilgrimage is something many of our traditions know in different ways: leaving home, setting out with intention, visiting a sacred place, and returning with a heart that has been touched or changed. It is not only about travel, but also about longing, prayer, discipline, and the hope of coming closer to God.

Together, we will read short passages from our sacred texts and share reflections in a spirit of listening, friendship, and mutual learning.

📅 Sunday, June 14th
🕝 2:30 PM
📍 First Presbyterian Church, Stroudsburg PA, 575 Main St, Stroudsburg

For the best experience, we encourage you to join us in person. If you are unable to attend in person, you may also join online. Please message us for link.

Light refreshments and conversation will follow.
All are welcome. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to listen, reflect, and learn together.

Thank you to Times News for this thoughtful story on our National Day of Prayer gathering at Courthouse Square.

We are grateful to everyone who participated, supported, and helped make the evening so meaningful. With nearly 100 people gathered and at least 19 faith communities represented, it was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when neighbors of different traditions come together with respect, hope, and care for our shared community.

Whatever your religion, prayer can be meaningful, healing, transformative and powerful. It is also universal and brings people together. That bond was part of a local National Day of Prayer celebratio...

Our Interfaith Celebration of the National Day of Prayer at Courthouse Square was a truly meaningful evening.

This was our third year gathering as the Pocono Interfaith Council for this special occasion, and each year the circle feels a little wider and the spirit a little deeper.

Faith leaders, community members, and neighbors from around 20 faith communities came together to share reflections, prayers, and hopes for our common life in the Poconos.

Grateful to everyone who joined us, supported the program, and helped make the evening so beautiful.

What a beautiful evening at Courthouse Square.

Last night, the Pocono Interfaith Council brought together faith leaders, community members, and neighbors from around 20 faith communities across the Poconos for the Interfaith Celebration of the National Day of Prayer.

Together, we reflected on prayer, lifted up our shared concerns, and stood side by side in respect, friendship, and hope.

Seeing so many traditions gathered in one place, each bringing its own voice and prayer, made the evening truly special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this gathering so meaningful.

May this spirit continue to grow in our community.

As we approach Valentine’s Day, we invite you to reflect on love in a deeper and more meaningful way.
Join us this Sunday as we gather with friends from different faith traditions to explore love in the Abrahamic scriptures—the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament, and the Qur’an—through the practice of Scriptural Reasoning.

Scriptural Reasoning is a welcoming and interactive space where people read short sacred texts together, listen carefully to one another, and build understanding across differences. It’s not about debate, but about connection.

📅 Sunday, February 8 | 2:30 PM
📍 First Presbyterian Church
575 Main St., Stroudsburg, PA

All are welcome. Come sit at the table and reflect on love together.

🌿 Scriptural Reasoning | January Gathering 🌿
Theme: Gratitude

This month, our Scriptural Reasoning gathering will focus on gratitude—how recognizing what we’ve received shapes our relationship with God, with one another, and with the world. Together, we’ll explore how sacred texts across the Abrahamic traditions speak about thankfulness in both abundance and difficulty, and how gratitude sustains community and deepens spiritual awareness.

📅 Sunday, January 11
🕝 2:30 PM
📍 East Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church
55 Smith St., East Stroudsburg

We warmly encourage joining us in person for deeper engagement, conversation, and community. If you’re unable to attend in person, you’re welcome to join us online:

☕ Refreshments and informal conversation will follow the session.

What is Scriptural Reasoning?
Scriptural Reasoning is an interfaith practice where people of different faiths read and reflect on their scriptures together. The goal is not agreement, but deeper understanding—learning to listen well, ask better questions, and engage difference with respect and care. No prior expertise is required; all are welcome.

We look forward to gathering with you!
