💜September is Su***de Prevention Month💜

This month, we’re raising awareness, encouraging connection, and reminding our community that su***de prevention and awareness starts with conversations.

We don’t always know when people are struggling, but a simple “how are you doing?” can open the door to a conversation that matters and changes someone's life.

Ask. Listen. Connect

💜Check in with those you care and love

💜Know the warning signs

💜Take the warning signs seriously

💜Listen without judgment

💜Encourage someone who is struggling to reach out for help.

💜Remember asking someone about su***de does NOT put the idea in their head —it creates an opportunity for them to talk about what they're experiencing.

If you are struggling, please know:

You’re not a burden. Your life matter. Help is available!

📞Call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

💻 You can also visit 988lifeline.org for support and resources.

This September, let’s choose connection over silence, and remind one another:
You matter! You are not alone! There’s hope💜

There were about 700 NAMI staff, volunteers, and supporters from across the state who came together to raise awareness! Thank you NAMI Wisconsin, NAMI Brown County and the Green Bay Packers organization for this amazing day! Go Pack Go 💚💛

CIT Advanced classes are 8-hour courses for officers who have already been through the full 40-hour CIT training. These advanced classes cover a specialized population. Last week, our CIT Coordinating Team hosted a CIT Advanced - Youth class. All of the sessions focused on youth in crisis. Thank you to the Janesville Police Department for sending all of your School Resource Officers and to the Rock County Sheriff's Office and Town of Beloit Police Department for also sending officers.

Happy International Day of Friendship! 💙

Today, reach out to a friend — and don't forget your "strong" friend. The one who always shows up, always listens, always seems fine. The people who hold everyone else together need someone to hold space for them too.

A simple "How are you, really?" can mean everything. Text them. Call them. Sit with them.

Friendship is one of the most powerful protectors of mental health — for both of you. 💙 Who are you checking on today?
