We mobilize the community to help people improve their lives. For 100 Years, we have demonstrated impact in all aspects of our work. Our human and financial resources are dedicated to achieving measurable results in four key areas identified by the community. We believe that families need to

be self-sufficient, everyone should be ready to work, young people must succeed in school and that people in need can find help. This year, more than $1 million will be invested in 48 community-based programs that align with these priorities. Funding decisions are made locally by a team of 60 volunteers from all walks of life and approved by the Board of Directors. 100% of every donation remains in Chautauqua County. Gifts made to United Way ensure that the 34 local nonprofits that rely on United Way for leadership and funding can continue to do so in the coming year. Organized as the Jamestown Community Chest in 1920, we have evolved to become a leader in human service program development. From the first campaign that raised just over $92,000 in the 1920's, to today's campaigns that raise more than $1,000,000 annually, we continue our commitment to Chautauqua County by responding to the most critical needs of our community.

Today, we observe the Juneteenth holiday โ€” and as such, our offices in Dunkirk and Jamestown are closed.

We honor the legacy of Juneteenth by listening, learning, and leading with purpose.

Juneteenth is a time to commemorate freedom, honor our shared history, and celebrate the resilience and contributions of Black Americans. It also offers an opportunity to reflect on how we can continue building communities. Because when we uplift every voice and invest in every community, we all rise.

Through our work across Chautauqua County, we remain committed to creating a future where all residents here can live healthy, fulfilling lives.

Our Jamestown office will also be closed Monday, June 22 for the 13th annual AG Team Charity Golf Classic at Shorewood Country Club.

Earlier this week, the Jamestown Area YMCA celebrated the opening of Camp Onyahsaโ€™s new Health Center with a ribbon cutting event attended by community leaders, supporters, founders, and other partners

United Way of Chautauqua County Community Impact Manager Eric Rinaldo was in attendance and excited to visit the new site.

This addition represents an investment in the health, safety, and well-being of campers for years to come, helping ensure that children have a safe place to grow, build confidence, form friendships, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this vision a reality. Itโ€™s inspiring to see our community come together to create opportunities that will positively impact local youth for generations.

Community is strongest when everyone feels seen, valued, and welcome.

United Way of Chautauqua County was proud to join the Rainbow Walk and celebrate alongside our neighbors at the Jamestown Pride Festival. After the walk, our team spent time visiting vendors, connecting with community organizations, and exploring the nearby Jamestown Farmers Market, which extended its hours to be part of the dayโ€™s festivities.

Thank you to Jamestown Pride, the vendors, volunteers, and everyone who helped create a welcoming celebration.

Pride means something different to everyone.

For some, itโ€™s celebration. For others, itโ€™s visibility, community, or simply feeling accepted for who they are.

At United Way, we know people are strongest when they feel supported and connected and everyone deserves spaces where they can show up fully as themselves.

Thank you to the library and the Holmberg Foundation for donating 250 board books to support this yearโ€™s Community Baby Shower!

This annual collection drive is so important each year โ€” as it delivers much-needed items to local at-risks mothers and their newborns here in Chautauqua county.

Community Baby Shower ends tomorrow โ€” Thursday, June 11!

These books, along with the other donated goods, will be distributed through our network of community partner agencies and placed directly into the hands of local families, helping babies and parents build connections through reading from the very beginning.

Itโ€™s not too late to make a donation! Monetary donations will be used to purchase diapers, wipes, clothing and more to be distributed throughout Chautauqua County!

Weโ€™re grateful for partners like the library and the Holmberg Foundation who understand that investing in children starts on day one.

Thank you to this crew at the Woodlands for coming together to support Community Baby Shower!

Recently, residents at the Woodlands gathered together and threw a โ€œBaby Showerโ€ to benefit United Way of Chautauqua Countyโ€™s annual collection drive!

Itโ€™s support like this that helps make a real difference for local mothers and their newborns.

A huge thank you to our Board member Carol Hay for helping coordinate and document this baby shower event at the Woodlands.

The Community Baby Shower has always been about neighbors helping neighbors, and this wonderful gathering is a perfect example of that spirit in action. When people come together to support local families in need, the impact reaches far beyond the items collected.
