🙋‍♀️ VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🛍️
Arise Chautauqua is looking for volunteers to help with our upcoming Bag Sale on Saturday, June 13 from 9 AM – 12 PM at the Arise House (601 Washington St., Jamestown).
This sale helps us clear out a surplus of donations while raising funds specifically for The Closet — supporting hygiene products and special events for the girls we serve.
We need helping hands to assist with:
• Setting up
• Organizing clothing
• Greeting shoppers
• Restocking tables
• Clean up after the event
You do NOT need to be a current Arise volunteer to help! Whether you can give an hour or the whole morning, we would love to have you join us.

👚🛍️ ARISE CHAUTAUQUA BAG SALE 🛍️👚
Join us on Saturday, June 13 from 9 AM – 12 PM at the Arise House (601 Washington St., Jamestown) for our Bag Sale!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we have received a surplus of clothing donations. While many items aren’t the styles our girls ages 11–18 typically select through The Closet, they are still wonderful pieces looking for a new home.
For just $10, you can fill a bag with clothing while helping support a meaningful cause. 💜

Every dollar raised will go directly back into The Closet at Arise Chautauqua — helping us purchase hygiene products and support special Closet events for the girls we serve.

Today on Volunteer Recognition Day we celebrate someone truly special, our Arise Girl’s Girl of the Year, Melissa Pollino! ☀🎉👏
Melissa first connected with Arise at a volunteer open house long before the Arise House was even complete. From the very beginning, she didn’t just show interest in coming alongside of us to support the girls in our community, but she also truly caught the vision for what we were doing and where we were headed. She stepped in and took ownership of The Closet programming from the very beginning and helped shape it into a space where girls not only have their needs met, but also feel seen, valued, and cared for. Not long after we launched programming from the house, Melissa said “yes” again, but this time as an Arise Circle leader!
Melissa embodies what it means to truly show up. She equips, encourages, empowers, celebrates, and loves every girl who walks through our doors. She believes deeply that the future is bright for the girls in our community and she’s committed to helping them get there.
Melissa, thank you for the way you lead, love, and serve. We are so grateful for you, we are better because of you and the future of the girls in our community is brighter because of you. You are the definition of a true Girl's Girl. There is so much more to say about Melissa, but for now please join us in honoring Melissa today! 💗💫

Helping girls navigate the digital world starts with real conversations.

Join us for Links to Safety: Forming Healthy Relationships in a Digital Age — a powerful life-skills class designed to equip girls with the tools they need to stay safe, confident, and aware online.

🍕 Dinner provided!

Led by Kayleah Feser, LCSW from the Child Advocacy Program, this session will cover:
• Cyberbullying + how to respond
• Healthy vs. unhealthy relationships
• Recognizing the stages of grooming
• Setting and communicating boundaries
• What to do in risky situations
This is an important, practical conversation every girl should have.

Last night, nine girls braved the elements to join us for two events hosted in partnership with Wegmans: a recruitment event for employment at Wegmans and an awesome cooking class where we learned how to prepare some Asian themed dishes from Chefs Melissa and Ericka and Arise girl, Gracie, who was hired by Wegmans at our first recruiting event a year and a half ago! 👩‍🍳🥢

We’re incredibly thankful for this partnership and for the way that Wegmans is investing in the future of our community’s girls! ☀️💕

Let's kick off a new year of Life-Skills Classes at Arise with an Arise girl favorite... cooking with Wegmans!
We are thrilled to invite 15 girls (ages 11-18) who are not currently connected to an Arise Circle to the Arise House to prepare three Asian inspired dishes with Chefs Melissa and Ericka! This class is the perfect way to introduce new girls to Arise (and new friends!)

All activities at the Arise house are canceled for this evening due to inclement weather. This includes the hair cut appointments and the Wegmans recruiting event.

Please note that Arise follows the Jamestown Public School closing/cancellation decisions. If school is closed or after school activities are canceled Arise activities will be canceled too!
