Northeast Florida Dental Hygienists' Association NEFDHA provides continuing education events throughout the year to keep members up-to-date with developments in the profession.

The events are held in Jacksonville and marketed through email to all licensed dental hygienists in the 13 counties served. Purpose:
Promote, advocate and advance oral health research, education and practice of oral health to the public. To act as a conduit of information to our local hygienist in an effort to promote continued education, practice and professional standards. Act as a professional

Board Member Qualifications:
✔️ Licensed Dental Hygienist
✔️ Active member of ADHA, FDHA, and NEFDHA
✔️ Willing to attend board meetings and participate in planning events and activities
✔️ Support the mission and goals of the association

What to Expect:
📌 Officer meetings are typically held virtually via Microsoft Teams
📌 Meetings are about one hour long
📌 Approximately 6–8 meetings are held throughout the term

Join us for an engaging evening of continuing education with Samira Meymand, DDS, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon and U.S. Navy Reserve Captain. Dr. Meymand brings more than 25 years of clinical and military experience to the stage. A Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve and Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Meymand has provided surgical care around the world—from naval deployments to humanitarian missions with Operation Smile.

As the first female oral surgeon practicing in the Heart of Mandarin, she specializes in advanced oral surgery, implants, and IV sedation. Known for her engaging teaching style and real-world clinical insight, Dr. Meymand is passionate about helping dental professionals better recognize and manage complex oral-facial conditions.

Topics of this course will include:
• Key oral-facial disorders and how they impact oral health
• The connection between oral health and systemic health

The Give Kids a Smile event is quickly approaching, and volunteer support is still needed for both prescreening and treatment days.
