Ability Housing

Today is World Homeless Day.

On a single night this January, 25,519 people in Florida had no place to call home.
More than 1 in 4 were in families with children.
More than 1 in 4 were age 55 or older.
4,186 were children.

Each one is a neighbor.

At Ability Housing, we believe everyone deserves a home. We build quality, affordable homes across Florida so more of our neighbors have a stable place to live.

For 35 years, Ability Housing has worked to create communities where everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable home. What began as a vision has grown into decades of impact, made possible by the residents, partners, supporters, and team members who make this work possible.

Here's to 35 years of progress — and to 35 more.

Every community starts with a vision — and it takes a lot of people to turn that vision into a reality.

A huge thank you to our Property Development team who work day in and day out to ensure our future residents have a safe place to call home.

There’s no one way to be a grandparent. Some are storytellers and tradition keepers. Some are always just a phone call away. And some are there for the everyday moments that matter most.

Whatever that role looks like, grandparents help shape the generations that follow.

At Ability Housing, our 413 senior residents are more than numbers—they’re grandparents, parents, friends, neighbors, and an important part of their families and communities. A home can be more than four walls. It can be a place where family gathers, traditions continue, and generations stay connected.

Today, we celebrate the grandparents who make a difference in so many ways.

Rain didn’t stop us from digging in! 🌧️🚜
We officially broke ground on the Village of Pine Hills, bringing 96 new units of much-needed affordable and supportive housing to the Orlando community.

This milestone is the result of true collaboration, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who braved the weather to celebrate with us. Our heartfelt thanks to our core partners for their vision and support:

City of Orlando - Government
Orange County, Florida Governmentnt
Florida Housing Finance Corporation
JPMorganChase
National Equity Fund

We look forward to watching these walls go up and, most importantly, welcoming our future residents home. Stay tuned for progress updates as construction gets underway! 🏠✨

This Senior Citizens Day, we’re celebrating the older adults who make our communities stronger through their stories, wisdom, resilience, and connection.

Affordable senior housing does more than provide a place to live—it gives older adults the opportunity to age with stability, dignity, and a community they can call home.

Today, and every day, we’re proud to celebrate the seniors who make our communities what they are.

Today, we celebrated a milestone years in the making.

Ability Housing officially celebrated the ribbon cutting of Village of New Augustine, a new affordable apartment community bringing safe, stable, and affordable housing to individuals and families in Northeast Florida.

This celebration would not have been possible without the vision, partnership, and perseverance of the many organizations, community leaders, funders, and individuals who helped bring Village of New Augustine to life.

We’re proud to celebrate this new community and, most importantly, the opportunities it creates for the people who will call it home.
