At Northeast Florida AHEC we connect current and future health professionals with populations that need health services, education, and support. Our Mission: is to create academic and community partnerships for the improvement of health in underserved communities. Our Programs Include:

- COVID-19 Hesitancy Program
- COVID-19 Transportation Program
- AHEC Scholars Program for university students

- Health Careers Exploration Tours Program for high school students
- Opioid Prevention and Treatment Education
- Tobacco Cessation, Training, and Systems Change
- Senior Health Education Programs for people age 60+

If you’re new here—or if you’ve been following along for a while—we wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves and share a little more about what we do.

Northeast Florida AHEC works across Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, St. Johns, and Volusia counties to connect people with health education, resources, and opportunities that support healthier communities.

🎓 Applications are now open for the Florida AHEC Scholars Program – Cohort 9 (2026–2028)!

Are you a health professions student looking to grow as a future healthcare leader? The Florida AHEC Scholars Program offers a unique opportunity to enhance your education through interdisciplinary learning, mentorship, and community-based service experiences.

Program Benefits:
✅ $500 annual stipend
✅ Mentorship opportunities
✅ National recognition
✅ Community-based service learning
✅ Join a select group of only 150 students statewide
Eligible students in medicine, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, nurse midwifery, dentistry, psychology, pharmacy, and optometry are encouraged to apply.
