In January 2026 the CDC reported only 67.1% of adults 65+ received a flu vaccine in 2024. Vaccines are an important part of healthy aging for everyone.

This National Immunization Awareness Month, take a moment to talk with your healthcare provider about which vaccines are recommended for you. 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

👋 Hi, Northeast Florida! We’re Northeast Florida Area Health Education Center- or Northeast Florida AHEC for short.

If you’re new here—or if you’ve been following along for a while—we wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves and share a little more about what we do.

Northeast Florida AHEC works across Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, St. Johns, and Volusia counties to connect people with health education, resources, and opportunities that support healthier communities.

From helping high school students explore careers in health care, to supporting health professionals, offering senior wellness and to***co cessation programs, and bringing communities together around important health issues, there’s a lot happening at Northeast Florida AHEC! 🩺🎓🤝

Are you a health professions student looking to grow as a future healthcare leader? The Florida AHEC Scholars Program offers a unique opportunity to enhance your education through interdisciplinary learning, mentorship, and community-based service experiences.

Program Benefits:
✅ $500 annual stipend
✅ Mentorship opportunities
✅ National recognition
✅ Community-based service learning
✅ Join a select group of only 150 students statewide
Eligible students in medicine, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, nurse midwifery, dentistry, psychology, pharmacy, and optometry are encouraged to apply.
