Big House Books PROTECTING THE RIGHT TO READ Big House doesn’t judge a book by its cover. We believe in literacy for all – even for those in our correctional facilities.

That’s why we’ve set out to provide books to Mississippians in prisons and juvenile detention centers. Every person has the right to educate themselves, and it’s our goal to make that a reality. Big House Books is a non-profit, volunteer organization that sends free books by request to prisoners in Mississippi correctional facilities in order to promote literacy and be a vehicle of change for prison reform. https://linktr.ee/bighousebooksms

The Mississippi Film Society, in partnership with the Mississippi Humanities Council, is pleased to invite you to a special free screening of BEYOND on Tuesday, June 9th, at 7 pm, at the Capri Theatre in Fondren. Before the screening, Big House Books will set up in the lobby to give out swag and accept donations. Please come out to support this important film and Big House Books!

📢 Our final giving tier gives you the chance to be the LIFE OF THE PARTY! This is a great opportunity for groups or individuals to fundraise for Big House Books.

We spend about $5,000 in postage every month. Every dollar of this donation will go toward getting books into the hands of incarcerated Mississippians.

Maybe you have a loved one who is incarcerated. Maybe you work with someone who was once incarcerated. Maybe someone you know is in danger of being incarcerated. Big House Books is here to give them a second chance.

Hi friends,

We have some boxes of books on tape that one of our facilities requested for their vision-impaired and disabled residents. They are in need of Walkmans and portable cd players as well.
