The next generation of civic leaders is already in the room. 🙌🏾
Thank you to the students and community members who joined the Andrew Goodman Foundation, the ACLU of Mississippi, and Mississippi Votes for the Mississippi Democracy Training at Jackson State University on Wednesday, October 21!
Students from Alcorn State University, Tougaloo College, and Jackson State University joined Jackson metro community members for an evening of conversation, civic education, and poll monitor training.
JSU student Jakari Holland moderated a fireside chat featuring Tougaloo student Muarib Abdul-Tawwab and voting rights attorney Carroll Rhodes. Together, participants explored how to get involved, help protect voters’ rights, and work together to create change in their communities.
From asking thoughtful questions to learning practical skills, participants showed their commitment to strengthening democracy in Mississippi. Thank you to our partners, speakers, and everyone who helped make this evening possible!
