🌳 Rooted in Rhythm

There's no need to watch the clock.

Responsive feeding means watching your baby—not the schedule.

Following your baby's cues may help support:
🌱 Better milk supply.
🌱 Happier babies.
🌱 Less stress during feedings.

Every family finds their own rhythm.

🌱 August is National Breastfeeding Month!

💛 Babies know when they're full. As your baby finishes feeding, you may notice:
✔️ Slower sucking.
✔️ Relaxed or open hands.
✔️ Turning away.
✔️ Falling asleep.

Following your baby's fullness cues helps them learn to trust their own hunger and fullness.

Full is a feeling.

⏰ Watch the roots, not the clock.

Crying is actually a late hunger cue. Look for early signs like:
🌱 Rooting.
🤲 Hands to mouth.
👅 Tongue movements.
😊 Mouth opening.

Responding before baby cries can help make feeding a little easier for everyone.

MICHIGAN RESIDENTS - your feedback is needed on the state of housing in our local communities. What's working, what's missing, what should be priorities moving forward? Would you take a few moments to complete this survey?

Your voice can help build a stronger housing future for Michigan and we want to hear from you through the Michigan Statewide Housing Survey.

By taking the survey, you can share what’s working, what’s challenging, and what your community needs most. Your feedback will help shape the Michigan Statewide Housing Plan 2.0 and housing in the state for years to come.

🌱 August is National Breastfeeding Month!

Did you know your baby starts "talking" before they cry?

Early hunger cues like rooting, bringing hands to the mouth, opening the mouth, and stirring are your baby's way of saying, "I'm ready to eat!"

Watching for these early cues can help make feeding calmer and support easier latching.

Every cue tells a story. Follow their lead. 💚 WIC is Rooting for You!
